Often bridesmaids dresses have several shades of blue/pink/red/purple etc. so I would make sure to specificy exactly which shade I wanted as called by the line.  Like, I wanted grey dresses, and in my line that was called either “dove” or “quarry”.  Yikes, hopefully they specified which one they wanted, otherwise I guess it was a little open to interpretation of what the worker considered purple.  Hopefully you’re able to get this rectified in time!

The good news is that wine is a gorgeous color! Not your first choice, but even if you can’t get them fixed, they will be gorgeous!

I hate to say it but I really dont think you will get them in time for your wedding if you order them now. My dresses were Bill Levkoff and they estimated 3 months production and they still came in late. I talked to the shop lady a few weeks ago and she said I am lucky I ordered them when I did (December) because a lot of girls dresses are still not in and they are running at a 5 month production time. Now, its a different brand than yours but Bari Jay and Bill Levkoff are in the same relm of popularity when it comes to dresses. Most brial shops supply these brands. If I were you, I would do as much damage control as possible as far as your decor to match the wine color just in case they cant get new ones in for you.

ANd the verbage is so stupid with dresses. My girls dresses are plum…in the world of crayola, I wanted PLUM as my shade of purple. But a lot of places call plum eggplant and visa versa. Eggplant is NOT plum. I am no idiot, do I need to bring a crayon with me to show them? haha.

Wine is a pretty color though. Very elegant. What other colors are you using? Does wine match?

You should demand a refund and I would buy my dress elsewhere. I would be furious. My colour is purple and wine is not purple, like you said it’s more red! A purple wedding with wine bridesmaids dresses? Bridesmaids dresses are a huge part of the colour theme.

You didnt get paperwork from the shop? My bridesmaids ordered Bari Jay and needed pink but there are various shades of pink. The shop specifically asked which color and showed me the chart. They also have a file for my girls with all the info.

On a positive note, at least they didn’t send yellow!

Whenever I’ve ordered a bridesmaid dress through a dress shop, the consultant has verified the exact color (e.g., if I said “navy” they would show me all the dark and navy blues by the particular designer and have me select the correct one).  I’ve also had to initial the style number, color and size on the purchase order.  I’m shocked that they didn’t at least have your bridemaids sign an order form reflecting all the details!  That’s just bad business practice.
