OK, I’ll be the lone voice of decent here.

In blue – it looks like a prom dress.

If you got it in white – then it looks like a wedding gown.  I like the dress itself but not in blue.

Are you looking for a blue dress?

I was expecting a mini dress with cut outs when I read the headline LOL.  Glad to see that it’s a very classy looking prom dress.

I think that dress would be great for a reception!

@Omgbunnies:  Ok gottcha.  That is definitely one of the prettier blue dresses I have seen and it does remind me of the Cinderella one that you liked on your other thread πŸ™‚

You are definitely right about once you add the word “wedding” to something how it jacks up the price.  One of my friends bought an off white bridesmaid dress to use as her wedding dress and saved a ton of money doing so.

The more I think about it, it looks more like a wedding than a prom dress.  Especially if you wear a veil – no one is going to mistake you for going to prom!  I think getting a prom dress is a great way to save money and get something you love!

I think this dress would make a lovely reception dress! I’d probably jump for something like that for a wedding dress (I LOVE the light blues featured in that dress), but my otherwise very untraditional DBF wants to see me in white when the time comes. Still, I would love colored embroidery a design, but don’t tell him that. πŸ˜‰

My only quip about going for a prom dress would be the sizing. I obviously don’t know about your body type, but if you on the curvier side, the shopping might be a bit more frustrating since prom dresses typically use junior’s sizing, which features a slimmer cut than women’s sizes. But that’s probably just my problems with being really busty and buying too much junior’s clothing speaking.

I say go for it! If you want color, I think it’s a brilliant idea. It likely won’t have a train (which would be a plus for me!) so keep that in mind. But sounds brlliant to me!!!

@Omgbunnies:  One of the dresses I fell in love with was a bridesmaid’s dress by WTOO, but it was discontinued. When I tried on the sample, it not only felt amazing and high quality- it was crazy cheap compaired to WTOO’s bridal line.

@Omgbunnies:  No. I could never find it. I bought one on craigslist in a size 8 for $15, but they couldn’t alter it to my size (12) and I didn’t loose the wieght.

She’s the one who got away.
