    I thought I’d get married at twenty-five; have my heart expand and break a few more times than it did before I got into a relationship with my fiance. We will be married this year and I’ll be only twenty-one!

    @JRL2012: this sounds so familiar!

    I never dreamed I would be getting married until I was ‘old and booring’. I wanted to travel the world and start companies and write books etc. etc. etc… I happened to have found ‘the one’ who wants to do all those things with me and now it looks like I will be 26.

    Before I met DH I never really thought I would get married. I thought I would have a long-term cohabitation situation. Strangely, though, I also thought I would be all done having kids by the time I was 24. Assuming this pregnancy continues, I’ll be 27 when I have my first.

    I always thought I’d get married sometime after 25… 28 or so sounded good. I figured I’d be a successful career woman, travel, etc, and THEN settle down. Of course, then I met right guy, and I ended up getting married at 21. Life just happens when you’re busy making other plans! I wouldn’t change a thing! Now I get to travel WITH my husband, and I can still do the career woman thing… yet I get to pool my salary with his to do things like buy a house!

    I always knew I wouldn’t get married until at least 30 and sure enough, I got married a month shy of my 32nd birthday.   I had a momentary lapse when I was 24 and had been dating someone for nearly three years – I knew he wanted to get married and I thought maybe I could get married younger than 30.  Then I woke up and realised that was not for me at all!  Thank goodness for that too, it would have been the unhappiest marriage on the planet had I married that guy!

    I somehow calculated my magical marriage number to be 27, but I’m getting married at 23. I never thought I would get married so young! Fiance is 26 tho so that makes a difference I think.

    In HS, I thought I would be married between 27-30. I’ll be a month shy of 27, so pretty right on there! I had always imagined I’d want to do a lot of stuff before “settling down.”

    I don’t think I’ll be ready to settle down into a fully “domestic” life (not traveling/moving all over) for quite some time, but I’ve done it all with my man from high school–I had not pictured that!!

    I always figured I would get married at around the age of 24 (you know, to a uni sweetheart type thing) but I never met anyone I liked like that at uni and am now 28 and not even engaged lol (at least I have a wonderful man, that makes up for it)

    I didn’t want to get married when I was younger.  it didn’t even cross my mind that I wanted to be married until I was 32!  I was 35 when I tied the knot.

    but if you had asked me in high school / college, I would have thought 35 was pretty old for a bride!

    I expected to meet some guy in my 20’s and be married around 26. Never did I think I would meet the love of my life in Highschool and be married by 22… barely 22. But I wouldn’t change it for the world!

    My mother married at 27 so I always figured I’d be a bit older when I got married. In fact I’ll be 26 at my wedding, which does feel young to me.

    I figured somewhere around mid to late 20s. I was more focused on planning to graduate college and have kids at 30 so I just kind of assumed meeting a husband in college and getting engaged/married shortly there after. Got married a month into 27 after meeting my husband in grad school so it was pretty much in line with my plan although grad school was never planned.

    In middle and high school I had this idea that I would get engaged at 26, married at 27, and have babies at 28 and 30. Yes, I was that specific, lol. In reality, I got married at 21! Never would have imagined it but I wouldn’t change a thing!! 🙂
