I was 24 and husband was 26. We live in California so I’d say we didn’t pretty good. However we also live in the Inland Empire and it was one of the hardest hit counties/areas when the market crashed years ago so that crash made it possible for younger people to buy like we did.

We closed on our first home 3 days before my 30th birthday. My SO is 33.
There is not right age, only the right time for you. We were in the right place, when it all clicked. We had a VA loan so no down payment, we found we could afford a house, we found a house we loved.
do not rush into it because family thinks you should.

Darling Husband and I are 27 and 29, and we don’t own our house. We are starting the mortgage process, but we just weren’t ready to until now. We’ve both earned professional degrees and spent most of our 20s on other endeavors. We’ve been able to live a couple interesting places and save up a nice amount in savings. Age isn’t as important as timing, at least in our case.

Bought it at 28, but had just turned 29 when it closed
Bought it all by myself 🙂

We were 26 when we bought our house.

Husband was 26 & I was 24. I do feel that we were young, but where we live factored into making it a smarter decisions for us. Don’t feel pressured into buying a home! It’s a big decision.

I think average ages vary greatly depending on your background and location. Here in LA, buying at 22 on your own power is unheard of. It’s completely normal for people in their 30s who already have a family to be first time homebuyers because rent is so expensive. In my hometown in central California, it’s way easier. People can buy homes in their mid 20s because home prices are more than half of what they are here.

Darling Husband was 23 when he bought his house. I am 32 and have never bought my own house, I was a professional nomad for 11 years before moving in with Darling Husband. I counted up how many places I’d lived in those years and it was somewhere north of 16.
Darling Husband was 24 when I met him and I was frankly shocked that he owned a home, nobody I knew did. But I come from CA where home prices are outrageous, none of my friends back in CA own a home and they’re all my age. Here in AZ about half of my friends own homes, and most of them are software engineers so they all make great money, some of them just don’t prioritize home ownership.
Don’t let your family sweat you out of your apartment, there is nothing wrong with apartment living for as long as you’re comfortable.

Darling Husband and I will probably be 31 or 32 before we buy our first place. However, where we live in Alberta house prices are really high, so we’re basically budgeting and saving to be able to afford a $400-450k home. I’m about to do my Masters and there’s no way we can get approved until we are both working more or less full time.

23. I bought a studio on my own. Bought my first house at 31 also on my own. Was very proud of myself but happy my next purchase will be with Fiance.

24 – bought as a single girl a year out of graduate school!
Darling Husband moved in after we married, and we have room for probably two little ones in this house before we’d need to move (4br, 2ba).

25, two months shy of 26. It wasn’t planned, something that just happened. I don’t think there is any set age to buy a home but more when you are financially ready.

I was 20/21 when I bought my first house by myself, but that is not average at all for my area or group of friends. My bf and I just bought our first house together, his first house, and he was 26.
Do what is right for you and don’t listen to other people. Everyone thought I was dumb to buy a house so young but it worked out for me.
