futurezakany:  I’m 30 and SO is 39. We would like to buy a home within a year or two. It never made sense for me to buy a home previously. It all depends on your situation. What is going on with your career, education, relationships, geographic location etc. There are so many factors. It just now makes sense that I (we) look into buying. Also, you have plenty of time. I don’t know any 22 year olds who own homes yet. I’m from CA currently living in NY.

I was 27 and Fiance was 29! We live in northern NJ where cost of living is astronomical. My Fiance and I were able to save for many years by living with our parents and not renting..

I’m 27, my fiance is 28, and buying a home isn’t even on our radar right now. It just doesn’t make sense for where we are in life. We live in San Francisco, where the cost of living is absolutely absurb, but it’s not likely we’ll be here forever. We’re perfectly happy renting for the forseeable future.

I was 23 and only because it was cheaper to buy than to rent… 22 is pretty young!

We’re closing in about a week! I’m 26 and he’s 25. TBH, we threw around the idea of moving so much and our career paths were so uncertain a few years ago that I wouldn’t have felt prepared for all this, or sure of it, any earlier.

I was 20; right before college graduation. I had an internship with a job offer lined up. Bought my second at 27.

22 & 23. I used to think the same way and really stress out about it. Probably from the age of 19 until we bought our house at 22. I look back now and see how irrational and bratty that was of me. Don’t worry, don’t stress. You’ll get there. There’s no time frame for these things.

futurezakany:  I was 24 and bought it by myself, its a huge step and you need to have a saving estabished that isnt all for down payment because there is almost always something that goes wrong in the start. For me it was a $3000 main line issue, that wasnt covered. Dont rush this, thats the worst thing you can do. Fiance is living in my home and we plan to sell my home and rebuy a home back where we are from in 2-3 years.
