We just bought our first home in April, right before I turned 24 and DH is still 23 for a couple of more days. We bought a new construction in a booming area, with the best school district in the state, I’m not too worried about resale. We are the youngest people in our neighborhood. It’s way more house than we need at this stage of our lives, but we can grow in it. I also own another home that we are in the process of fixing up to rent it out, then it’ll pay for our mortgage!

We put down our offer on our current home at 22, and I turned 23 before closing.

I was 26 and other half was 24, I think 22 is still young to take on a massive responsibility like that, there’s plenty of time don’t stress. Spend your money on yourself whilst it’s not going towards too many bills or a mortgage!

I was 27 when I bought my home.  I finished college a little later than normal so that was 2.5 years after I graduated with my Bachelors.  That was 5 years ago.  Now fiance’ probably be looking for a new house within the next year or two (after we’re married).

I was 25, and still felt super young buying our first house. I think you have plenty of time.

I bought one at 25, but Fiance and I will probably get another together after the wedding, when I’ll be ~30

DH was 31 and I had just turned 32. In our circle of friends only one person was able to buy in their mid 20’s, everyone else was late 20’s or early 30’s and many are still renting.

I was 29 when my husband and I bought our first home (a condo that I still live in). We live in a high priced market. We bought a second vacation home when we were 37 and got divorced shortly after. Now, I am dealing with trying to unload two homes to move in with my BF. The second home was definitely a mistake.

31 I had saved up substantial cash so had a very small mortgage and no room mates. Also important to me was being able to afford it if I lost my job. Thankfully that didn’t happen but I was prepared.

Bought my first home in December 2015. A 3 bedroom +den, 1 and 1/2 bathroom condo with DH. We bought it after almost three months of marriage at ages 27 (me) and 29 (him). SUCH a good feeling!

I was 25 when we bought our first home this past year (and DH was 27). We are the first of any of our friends/siblings/cousins to buy a home, and definitely the youngest on our street. All our neighbors are around 10+ years older than us. We were very fortunate to be able to purchase when we did as our area is insanely hot and there is no house you can buy for under 600k pretty much (townhouses included) in the area.

22 years old is extremely young to own a home, I wasn‘t even close to thinking of home ownership at that age 🙂 That is a good thing though… you‘re on track in life VERY early on.  We just closed on our home October of last year 2016, I was 27 and DH was 29.  We had been saving up for two years to make a 20% down payment.

I was single and 39 when I signed the contract, 40 when I went to settlement.
