I just have to chime in here about the idea that chocolate chip cookies are not Christmas cookies.

This is what we are having and I am literally eating them as we speak:

Any kind of cookies that are made around Christmastime are Christmas cookies to me. Chocolate chip cookies are just as tasty in December as they are at other times of the year.

Chocolate chip cookies can be! Especially if you put red and green m&ms in them! Or even chocolate chips and candy cane pieces. 😉 I dont care if it’s not a Christmas cookie, I’ll still eat it.

I just tend to view Christmas cookies as cookies (any type) that are somehow decorated for Christmas!

BelliniChic:  Holy crap those look delicious. I die for anything cake batter-y.

Christmas cookies are green tinted butter cookies made with the cooky press in the shape of wreaths and trees, Russian tea cakes aka snowball cookies dusted in confectioners sugar, gingerbread boys/girls, and any cooky with candied fruit peels such as hermits or my mothers fruited bar cookies that are out of this world. But I think it’s sweet that OP baked Fiance the chocolate chip cookies he wanted — and that Fiance is in the kitchen decorating her sugar cookies.
