I am brainstorming ideas for what to include in our Out of Town bags and was wondering what are people putting in theirs. I want to shamelessly steal ideas 😉
Also what type of packaging are people using (gable boxes, canvas bags, etc)?
Are there any items that are special to the area you live in? For example since we are both from Philadelphia and are having are wedding here as well we want to include soft pretzels with mustard & Tastykakes(something Philly is known for).

We’re thinking about doing prailines or little Tabasco bottles (for Texas) and Goo Goo Clusters (for Tennessee). We’re also going to include menus from nearby restaurants, an area map, brochures on local attractions from the Chamber of Commerce, a bottle of water, some packaged snacks, and maybe a roll of quarters since our hotel is right by a Tollway. : )

Welcome letter with itinerary and fav places to go, bottled waters, map of the area, and a snack. We’re putting it all in a paper bag from Michael’s (.89 each) and tying a ribbon on the top.

msgirard, as a Philly area native, I have a goofy idea: Do your relatives have much of a Philly accent? You could put bottled water in the bags, and put a label over the word "water" on the bottle and write "wooder."

I think we are using canvas bags if they fit in the budget, otherwise another sturdy bag with handles will be used. So far, I’m planning on including a map, info on local sites/attractions, water, snacks, menus for local restaurants and something to have for breakfast (I don’t believe the hotel serves breakfast). On another post, someone mentioned adding something like Tylenol for the morning after; this probably won’t be necessary for ours, but I could definately see the benenfits and like the idea.

I found damask bags at target – they already had "welcome" tags attached.
We included 2 water bottles which had the custom labels I made, candy, cookies, granola bars, and a map of downtown LA with directions to and from the rehearsal dinner and to and from the wedding venue.
