I’ve never gotten a gift I liked lol. I always fake it though, and wear/use it around the bride.
Usually it’s been cheap or really plain jewlery. Like round gold stud earrings, or a necklace with a bead from Claires or something.
I also got one HUGE butterfly hair clip, lol I had to wear it at the wedding too. I love looking at it because it was one of my oldest friends weddings and it’s dear to me, but I’d never in a million years wear it. It has rainbow stones all over it. It’s like the size of a baseball.
I would love those Robes I’ve seen on here, non-personalized clutches, Cool jewlery.

@Nickig_4 I have been a Bridesmaid or Best Man several times and my favorite gift was having my dress, hair, and makeup paid for! (I got an actual non wedding-related gift also, but that is what I appreciated the most from a practical standpoint. My Maid/Matron of Honor shirt I have never worn again, claires faux pearl jewelry I have never worn again, and I never use the mirror with my name engraved on it (I appreciate the thought, but I never use it).

Gift certificates for a favorite restauarant, spa, or other experience! It’s a nice treat and will definitely be used.

So far, I’m getting my BMs a monogrammed robe to wear while getting ready, and monogrammed zip pouches (to use for makeup/jewels/whatever) from west elm. They’re cute – I couldn’t resist them – and the robes I’m giving for selfish reasons (pictures!).
I’m going to get my Maid/Matron of Honor a pair of gold nautical knot earrings. Her boyfriend in in the navy (he’s a pilot – so cool!), and they live in VA beach – she’s very into nautical stuff, and I’m going to include a Thank You note for helping me “tie the knot”. It’s probably more than I’d normally spend, but…she’s worth it.
One of my BMs lives in NYC with her boyfriend – I think I’m going to get her a date night of cooking lessons. She’s always trying and wanting to learn, and it’d be a fun night out for her and her guy – plus, they don’t get to do fun stuff like that since their cost of living is so high.
My third Bridesmaid or Best Man is a physician’s assitant student in Chicago – I’m thinking about a nice bag, engraved pen, or donation to her favorite charity. She’s a selfless person, and hates “stuff”, so I want to respect that.
So – they’re all getting something traditional and similar, but also something personalized. I started buying gifts in November for our June wedding, so by slowly purchasing it lessens the pressure on my wallet!

Wow I can’t believe how many girls have gotten so many gifts they didn’t like. What a bummer.
It may be a cookie cutter gift but I did put thought into it and I would be enormously shocked if one of my bridesmaids didn’t like the bracelets I just bought them. Kohls is having a mssive jewelry sale so i decided to take advantage and bought these. http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-1578688/the-silver-lining-silver-plated-cubic-zirconia-tennis-bracelet.jsp’ defer=’defer

@Nickig_4 I’m giving mine a pearl bracelet and a necklace with a pearl pendant (both to wear on wedding day but they can definitely wear them elsewhere….bracelet and chain for necklace from Kohls, pendant from Hobby Lobby…and possibly a metal piece that has their first initial on it), a wine glass, wine stopper, shot glass and a giftcard to a favorite food/dessert place (ie. my younger sister and one friend – cherry berry, the other friend – panera, older sister – DQ, and cousin – her fav pizza place). I might do a hanger with their name or a bottle of wine or favorite alcohol (my younger sister can’t drink wine cuz it upsets her stomach) but I’m not sure yet.
The groomsmen so far are getting a large beer mug (which will be on the head table as well as the wine glasses for the girls), shot glass and a bottle of their favorite alcohol (ie. Bridesmaid or Best Man – wild turkey american honey, one groomsman – captain morgan, etc.)….decided on by Fiance. We might do another small thing but who knows.
I was in my MOH’s wedding last year and got earrings (dangling ones – don’t wear anymore) and a matching necklace that I wear all the time…a candle (don’t burn candles so I haven’t used it)…and a champagne glass with my name on it which I use all the time.

Tote bags, and an adorable ring holder my BFF gave me at her wedding, or anything else useable, or really personal.
I don’t use silk robes so that’s a no for me, and I don’t like getting lotions etc either. I once got a mini facial in a box about 12 years ago… it’s still in the box somewhere…
I have rarely if ever worn wedding jewelry again either
ALthough i broke some of these rules here is what I gave my girls: A coach wristlet, hand made jewelry rolls, personalized necklaces that were neutral (I do know they still wear them) super cheap tanks just for fun the day of, a j crew straw tote, and I think some other random things just to stuff the bag.

It’s pretty simple so I knew they’d like it, but what surprised me was the ones who I”ve seen wear it A. aren’t big jewelery wearers and B. don’t wear a ton of gold. So I can only imagine how often the others wear it!

I am giving my girls a “girls night in basket”. It will be filled with all of their favorite things: favorite chick flick (that they don’t already own), favorite alcoholic drink, glasses for said drink, favorite magazine, and favorite snack. Each basket is personalized to each girl so even though technically they are all getting the same thing, not one basket is the same.
I am also paying for their hair and make-up. I hope it is enough and they like it!

I personally would not get any use out of a robe (besides the wedding day), I have a robe now and I never wear it.
I gave my bridesmaids all purses (the same), and I put gum, hand lotion, hand sanitizer, lip balm and a different bracelet for each girl. I made it clear that they did not have to use the purse or wear the bracelet on my wedding day, but they all did. I also bought their shoes, since they were more for the ‘wedding look’ – they were Converse sneakers customized with whatever name/nickname they wanted embroidered on the side.

What a fun and unique idea 🙂 They will love that!!
I’ve never been a bridesmaid so I can’t comment on my favorite gift. But this is what I’m doing for my girls…
For everyone (totally wedding related and more for me & photos…). Most of these will be waiting in the wedding suite the morning of the wedding.
1. Hangers with their names in wire
2. Robes with the girls initials
3. Champagne flutes for mimosas while getting ready
4. Gatsby-ish headbands for them to wear at the wedding
5. Possibly matching braceletes (if i find one I like)
Gifts I plan to give to each Bridesmaid or Best Man during the rehersal dinner
1. Maid/Matron of Honor – Tiffany’s necklace
2. FSIL/BM – Kate Spade Makeup bag, bobbi brown make-up brushes and lip gloss, gift card for a manicure
3. For me 3 other Bridesmaid or Best Man (My Sisters) I paid $50 towards each of their dresses and plan on getting them mani/pedis before the wedding. They aren’t financially stable and agreed they’d rather have help on wedding stuff then a gift. I’ll still get them each something small so they’ll have something to open at the rehearsal dinner but haven’t figured out what yet…

I have gotten a robe for a wedding I was in and I have never worn it again. Yes, they do make for good pictures but, not practical for my every day life. One gift I have gotten that I loved was a simple gold bracelet with my first initial on it. She got it from Nordstrom and it was the brand Nadri. I think they are only $35.
