My SO is not a romantic at all.  I even try to give him specific suggestions (“I would really like it if you brought me some flowers every now and then.”)  But I know he loves me, even if he doesn’t know how to show it.

We live together, although he is gone for work Monday through Friday.  I guess his way of showing me that he loves me is helping around the house.  He does the yardwork, and he picks up the dog poop every week.  Once in a blue moon, he will vacuum.

Also, we talk every night that he is away (and we always say “I love you” at the end of our talk), and we are inseparable during the weekends.

That being said, he’s pretty much incapable of doing anything more than that.  After 3 years into our relationship, I asked him why he loves me — not in a desperate kind of way, but just b/c he’s never told me.  His answer: “You’re a nice girl.”  SERIOUSLY?!  I told him that’s not an answer.  He said, “ok, you like dogs.”  I gave up after that.

Last night was awesome.  First, he seemingly randomly decided we should go see Megamind.  Afterwards, he said we should grab food since we were already out.  So he took me to our local fancy Italian place.  Got olives (presently my favorite snack) and a wine he knew I like (I’d forgotten it.)  I asked him what the occasion was…

My birthday is next week and my grandparents are visiting.  My favorite foods are sushi and Indian, but they are very non-adventurous when it comes to food.  So we’re going to barbeque and pizza places while they’re here, and I’m cooking one night.  My guy figured since I can’t go where I like on my birthday, I should have a nice meal this week.  Awwwww.

He always texts me a cute good morning message. It seems simple, but it is nice to wake up to 🙂  One of the cutest things was when he bought a monopoly game and relabeled it Monopoly “Our Life Edition”. He relabeled the entire board and property cards to include places we have been together and places we want to go. It was soooo adorable and we love playing it together!

We have some sweet men!! My man is so sweet because he makes dinner for me, packs me a lunch for work, and buys things for my kindergarten kiddos!! I recently purchased several costumes from wal-mart for my play centers at school. When he went grocery shopping he picked up some more costumes for me!

i just adore him!!

my Darling Husband packs my lunches the night before and includes little notes and snacks.  He also lights candles for when i get home from work and has dinner ready more than half the time!  He’ll watch americas next top model with me and is just overall pretty romantic.

My SO is such a sweetie. She is always cleaning, and picking stuff up. She keeps an ongoing list of things we need in the house. I honestly haven’t bought a toiletry since she moved in. She’s always on top of that stuff.

She leaves me a note or card on my car at least once a week.

my husband will lay out my whole uniform and my PT clothes (if i have PT that day) before i get around to doing it.  also, if i’m working that day and he has the day off, without fail, when i get home from work, the house is spotless.  And he always tells me that i’m beautiful, that he loves me, and that I’m his princess.  <3.  I love it.

My husband makes me my tea to take to work each morning in a big commuter mug, and then at night, he likes to brush my hair for like an hour! I feel so greedy sometimes when he is brushing my hair, but he says he loves to do it because it relaxes him before bed. It feels so nice!

Boyfriend or Best Friend sends me sweet texts, like “I miss you” or “I love you”. He tells me I’m beautiful and stuff like that.

Boyfriend or Best Friend isn’t super romantic either, but just the little things he does tells me that’s he’s thinking about me and he loves me.

It was funny because during my lunch he asked me if he should buy me more things..I thought he meant for my birthday, but he meant just in general. (Flowers and/or chocolates would be nice every once in a while, but I do not expect them.) So I told him no, he doesn’t have to buy me things…just beacause. He said he was talking to some guys at work and they made him feel bad because he doesn’t buy me things. I think girls who care about that are materialistic and that doesn’t prove love at all. I just thought it was sweet that he asked me that and wanted to know how I felt about it.

every morning, without fail, my Fiance wakes me up with a cup of coffee. he brings it to me in the shower, at the computer, wherever he finds me first. (although in reality, i’m not sure if so much does it for me, or for himself. i’m quite beastly until i’ve had my morning brew!)

If mine knows I’m not feeling well, which can happen with my sensitive tummy, he will bring home my favorite bread and some sprite.  He may not be the most romantic guy, but he sure knows how to take care of me when I’m sick.

My hubby has a fair bit of medical training and is very in tune with both our bodies (that sounds wierd coming out, but it’s totally true.) If we’re cuddling on the couch and I’m warmer than normal, he’ll put his hand on my head and ask if I’m feeling okay. Cute stuff like that. And every morning before he leaves for school, he makes sure to hug and kiss me. Love him.

Fiance doesn’t live with me, in fact he lives an hour away while he finishes school. But, when he is over here, hegives me a massage after I get home from school or he’ll clean up my house while I’m in classes or out running errands. He’s not very romantic, but having him help with chores and offering me a massage after he’s been on his feet all day while he’s at work makes me feel special.
