@StuporDuck:  Sadly, it doesn’t surprise me. It’s a shame, really. Baltimore (especially certain parts of it) have a similar reputation.

Regardless though, I love being from Maryland! Smile

I live in Southern California & there must live steps from the beach & visit Disneyland every other day ..all the while sporting a fake orange tan with bleach blonde hair, acting like a complete ditz ;].

I must say though, I do catch myself saying “like” a lot, but otherwise a lot of California stereotypes aren’t true, but rather funny!

That we are Hillbillys or Hippies. I’ve had people ask me where Oregon even was on the map.

Being from Canada, i agree with the other Canadians that have already posted on here.

So i will add that being from Quebec means I swear in French alot, that I AM French (I am not!), that we all want to separate from our country (I don’t!), that we are rude (I don’t think I am), that we speak very poor French, and that we are terrible drivers (ok, i kinda believe the last one, especially since moving to Ontario!).  In fact, in Montreal we are not allowed to turn right on reds and I totally understand why, there would be a huge increase in traffic accidents I believe.

Raised in northwest Illinois – that we are all from Chicago/Illinois=Chicago.

No. There is Chicago, then there is the rest of Illinois. Most of which hates Chicago.

@SaraB2602:  I live in WI now….I have to laugh at some of the stereotypes about WI cause it’s pretty true for the part of IL that I grew up in. They’re having Bratfest right now, which really doesn’t help to dispel the stereotypes! LOL!

And this wife of a Bear fan would have to say the dim-witted Packer backer stereotype is just the sad, sad truth 😉

@Snowflake011913:  Me too! And our flag is totally the best! I love it so much, I contemplated naming a girl Maryl if I ever had one. I don’t think my husband would ever go for it.

@StuporDuck:  Haha you’re right! That’s another one. Terrible sports fans in general, and we abandon our teams at the first sign of trouble…sigh…

@mightywombat:  @KatyElle:  oh yes, and we are all extremely angry drivers, are obsessed with the Kennedy family and for some strange reason, people from Massachusetts are all labeled as living in Boston.

@StuporDuck:  I LOVE Maryland.  Went there for work last year and didn’t want to leave!
