I use Crest 10 day 3-D whitening strips! They work wonderfully! I also use the toothpaste and mouth wash. I’m a bit obsessed with white teeth but I have had the best results with Crest! Just don’t do the 2-hour whitening ones, my teeth hurt for like 2 weeks after I used them and they didn’t look nearly as good as they say.

Yep, I usually do the white strips every 4-6 months. I notice they start to get a bit dingy looking then. But I also use the toothpaste and mouthwash so unless you use those as well, it may be more like 2-4 months?

I used Crest 3D both before my engagement pictures (in January) and before my wedding (in June). Loved them both times and they just recommend that you do them 4 times a year.

I’ve used various white strips and had less-than-fab results. My fave whitening kit has been the Rembrant 2-Hour one, that Snapdragon recently reviewed!

Also the Listerine Total Care Plus Whitening mouthwash (comes in an opaque purple bottle) has been AMAZING for both me & the Mr.

Another (cheaper) de-staining trick: make a little paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide & brush yo’ teeth. Many whitening products (including the two I listed above) have hydrogen peroxide and many have baking soda – no danger in brushing with it, but I wouldn’t go swallowing a mouthful of the mixture.

I’m using the Crest 3D Vivid White right now.  The kit was $25 off at the grocery store; so I went for it.

Today is day 5 and I’m really happy with the results so far. On day 2 I found I needed to buy sensitivity toothpaste (Crest Clinical Sensitivity, also on sale), but that reduced the sensitivity to almost nothing.

I used the Crest whitestrips when they first came out; and they were frustrating because of all the goop and the fact that the strips didn’t stick. Now it’s a sticky semisolid and the strips stay in place – so well they’re almost hard to get off.

Thanks for posting this, it was helpful. i figured if I buy the 10 day strips and start 2 weeks before the wedding, my teeth will look good. I talked to my sister about eating and drinking certain foods. She told me that you cannot drink anything colored or eat anything with a red sauce because you will screw up your teeth. She said it was torture, but it was worth it in the end. She ended up eating things like oatmeal (plain), white rice, plain vegetables, cereal with no sugar or colored stuff on them), white meat.

I found out you can buy Opalescence (dentist grade stuff) on Amazon and Ebay.  I bought the 15% and a mouth tray you dip in hot water that forms to your teeth.  I can tell a difference after one use.  Takes me about 3 to get the results I want.  And it’s cheaper than the strips.  I’ll never try the strips again.
