@MrsPom – i LOVE your ring! Laughing Where is it from?  I saw one similar to it on the Tacori web site that I fell in love with.

Since we bought an Emerald cut we tried to get the best C’s we could afford.  (emerald cuts tend to show more flaws) Round diamonds allow for lower grade clarity, cut and colour.  Round diamonds hide flaws easier and sparkle easier.  all this being said, my centre stone is an F colour, good cut and VS2.  For an emerald it sparkles beautifully. the side baguettes are G colour and S1. (its on my right hand right now, as i broke my left!)

Mine is an L, VVS1, I believe. I still don’t have a good picture of it on my hand, but it’s the stone on the second stone in on the right here.

@SweetChick:  I think that’s really a personal preference thing. I like the look of warm diamonds, but I really hated the look of included diamonds, even if the inclusions were relatively eye clean. They sparkled less to me when compared side by side to even a warmer stone. I chose clarity over color, and I’m very happy I did so. I also wanted one that was excellent cut, so I do agree that cut is a big factor in the quality of the diamond. That said, I didn’t like the bluish, icy look of many DEF stones, so I know I am a special case. My first diamond was an E, and I like my L much better.

GIA Cert. 2.16 centre diamond (princess), H color, VVS2

I picked the stone myself, although im going to be hounest looking back I would have rather gone down in clarity to a VS1 or VS2 and gone with a higher color grade D-E. Sometimes I notice some warm tones in certain lighting, which drives me nuts. I would prefer my diamond to be ice white no matter what lighting. But to each their own.
