My SO has all sorts of nicknames for me. Some are based on inside jokes like Cinderblock and Simple Dog but he also calls me Dani, the shortened version of my whole name, and Bug, which is a shortened version of my lifelong nickname, Doodlebug. I just realized I don’t really have any for him though!

Fiance will call me “my little darling” or “mein darlein” when he likes to pretend he can speak German. I don’t have any nicknames for him, which I sometimes feel bad about, but I don’t really call anyone by a nickname. He recently starting calling me “Shanshan” which is based on my name and I don’t like it, but he likes calling me that so I let it slide.

@happilyeveraftergirl: We have a whole bunch of nicknames that we have made up together, which are essentially variations of regular nicknames. Most of them are variations of cutie. In addition to those, we call each other cutie too.

I call my husband all the typical names: baby, darling, honey. I also call him “cuddlebug” because he is the cuddliest person I’ve ever met. But we picked up a new name on our honeymoon that I think is hysterical. I’m not sure why but whenever I call him “dear” he calls me “honeybadger”. As in “Can you hand me my soda, dear?” “Sure thing, honeybadger”. He says it’s because when I say “dear” he thinks of the horned “deer”. But what makes me laugh is that while “honeybadger” sounds sweet, they’re actually really viscious animals! It’s so ridiculous!

@happilyeveraftergirl: We use nicknames more than our first names, our main generic ones are babe, hon/honey, and darling.
He’s better at coming up with nicknames than I am lol, Toonar is his current favorite, based on my name, and I think it’s going to stick around, and he still likes to use the first nickname he gave me, Glittereyes. We also like Favorite, wifiance, and hubiance. My main nickname for him lately is Goof.
Also, I’m sure I’m not the only one with a childhood nickname that my family and some old friends call me, that would feel super weird if he said! And pretty much all my nicknames that annoy me were coined by my brother 😛

Let’s see, he calls me things like babe, sweetheart, sweetie, etc. He also has another name he calls me occasionally, that he came up with, no real reason behind it and not based on my name or anything. He calls me “bacon bit” haha 🙂
