No pics as most aren’t finished but here is what we are DIY’ing!

  • Flowers (centerpieces/bouts/bouquets)
  • Most decor ( I’m making tissues paper tassels, ribbon backdrops, etc)
  • My bridesmaids dress hangers
  • Dessert buffet (most desserts homemade, making the cake plates)
  • Guest advice cards and sign in tree

I’m sure there’s more lol

I crocheted my bouquet and the bouts. And my sister made the flower wreath in my hair.

I DIYed vases for the reception.

I DIYed our invitations.

Sorry if the pics are huge.

Centerpieces and bouquets.  The cost savings is astronomical.  I am making centerpieces for less than $10 each that would easily cost $50+ each from a florist/designer.

My venue didn’t allow much outside (all floral and decor is in house), but I did the following:

-Place card boards (pic is what I made, they are magnetic and I made button magnets to hold the cards)

-Card bird cage (inspiration photo, still a work in pgoress)

-All stationary items (program fans, invitations, save the dates, place cards)

-Picture frames for guest book photos (open frames with cards for writing messages – inspiration photo)

Basically everything.

– flowers (bouquets/bouts–still need to figure out this plan)
– backdrop for the ceremony (it’ll be moved to the reception, as well)
– centerpieces (mostly just painting, nothing fancy)
– invitation suite
– my shoes
– my birdcage veil
– bridesmaids dress hangers
– signs for the bar and menu
– “guestbook” pages
– chalkboard program

I am DIYing:

-bouquets (from fresh flowers)
-invitations (getting them printed by my print shop at work, yay!)
-escort cards
-favours (homemade jam)
-cardbox (painted mailbox with our names)
-dress hangers with names for myself, bridesmaids, and moms

and I think that’s it!

I want to (not sure if I can) DIY all paper products – programs, invitations, menus, save the dates, escort cards/bookmarks/favours

I’m DIYing everything BUT paper products: I’m MORE than happy to buy all of those 🙂 When I say “everything”, I mean pretty much everything:

-customizations to my dress (other than alterations)

-my veil/headpiece

-our dogs decorative collars (possibly tutus 🙂

-my shoes/his shoes

-any and all flowers (possibly ribbon ones, probably end up just arranging fresh ones)

-my hair and makeup

-our cake and any other desserts

-alot of our food (backyard BBQ style)

Basically, in our situation, if I want it I need to make it myself :-p

@housebee:  do you mind me asking how many garden roses (peonies?) you used for your bouquet? I’m DIY’ing mine and yours is similar to what I’m looking for! Yours is lovely!

  • Welcome Bags for Out of Town guests
  • Gifts for parents, attendants and hosts of various parties
  • Ceremony decor
  • Bouquets, boutonniers, corsages
  • Reception decor
  • Centerpieces
  • Crafts for kids (a little personalized flower pot with crayons and wedding themed coloring book)
  • Mini scrap books for each table’s “guest book”
  • Favors (homemade jam)
