@mrsedwardslpn:  I basically just bought some millinery netting at the fabric store, glued pearls to it, and added bobby pins to the ends. It was a little more work than that, but that was the gist of it.

I’m a waiting bee Embarassed but I already have a fairly good idea of what I want to DIY:

Dress (yes, I’m a seamstress)

Veil/headpiece, maybe

Some part of my man’s outfit– maybe a shirt

Invitations and other paper matter

Maybe flowers if our local florist (super talented and is an old friend of my SO’s) is too expensive and it’s a time of year when there are enough local flowers

I think our engagement will be on the longer side. Just the dress is going to be a huge amount of work– I can’t wait!! 🙂

@mrsedwardslpn:  Nope. I used a hot glue gun. I’m not sure you could even sew millinery netting.

I drew the line in weird places for my diy versus my purchases, some of what I bought fell within my abilities…I just didn’t want to do it…no idea why:

What I bought:

~The Mrs. X wire hanger

~Bridesmaid Clutches

~Pom Pom Tissue Flower Balls (this is a super easy diy but for some reason I just didn’t want to diy this beyond pulling apart the layers before I hang it)

What I did/am doing

~Ladder Ball and Corn Hole set

~Some overlays (although I may no longer do them for reception, I’m concerned the decor will be too busy)

~All paper (STDs, Invitations, RSVPs, Menus, etc…)

~Bulletin Boards/signs (one large bulletin board for the program, one for the escort cards, one for the cocktail hour menu, and a large sign to show everyone where everything is).

~Ribbon streamers (for the chairs, ceremony arbor, and the wands)

~Wooden fan favors (these are kinda unnecceasry and I kind of regret doing them, they were the first project I did when I got caught up in the wedding excitement)

~Card Box
