I am totally fascinated with how my tastes have changed in food since becoming pregnant. I am also totally fascinated by how when I have a craving, I HAVE to have that food. Or I will die. Lol:) And when I finally get it, it is the best thing I’ve ever eaten! It’s also usually something I never had a desire for before being pregnant.
My latest cravings:
1.) Fruit – Peaches mainly, but also apples and oranges
3.) CLUB SANDWICHES! I DIE FOR YOU!
4.) Wheat bagel with reduced fat cream cheese and Honey! The sweet and tart is the first thing I think of every morning when I wake up!
Oh and btw, I just wanted to share my club sandwich “recipe” because, yes – it is just that exquisite:) I toast the turkey meat (obvs), melt Weight Watchers smoked cheese on top of the meat, toast wheat bread, and put fat free mayo, mustard, turkey bacon, avocado, shredded lettuce, and tomato on it. I could eat this for every meal! And I guess I still feel like it’s kind of healthy? This with a big glass of organic skim milk – YUMMMMMMMM!!! I’m making it for dinner!
I also cannot eat most green veggies. So weird! I loved broccoli and asparagus before but I cannot even look at them now!
What about you? What are you craving? And what are you avoiding?

my cravings come in waves. I will crave something for about a week then I will be over it.
Lets see I have had a clementine phase where within a few days I went through a few crates. Then it was a milk phase, I drank milk all the time (and I hate milk normally). I’ve had a strawberry phase, and a watermelon phase, a pineapple phase. I guess I crave mostly fruit! Although right now I am in a chocolate pudding and chocolate icepop phase, thankfully they are only a 100 calories each.

Sandwiches for me too! Right after Easter is when it hit with egg salad (homemade) sandwiches and since then I’ve moved on to turkey and ham (toasted) with the occasional egg salad mixed it. I could literally eat them all the time and be perfectly happy.
Also…hamburgers. Before pregnancy I didn’t eat very much red meat at all and now I can barely stomach chicken.
My big aversion is apple sauce! I can barely even think about it without gagging!

Broccoli and milkshakes. I could seriously eat broccoli at every meal and be blissfully happy at the moment. Darling Husband claims I must be really calcium deficient or something.

Mustard! I live for it, especialy on onion rings. Sauerkraut too. Canned peaches and pineapple. Cheese, milk, chocolate, watermellon. I need to have a burger at least once a week. I was off avocados in the first tri but now I am ink them again.

Fruit, sweet foods, ice cold water, veggies, chocolate and carbs.
I am off chicken, which I usually love, and onto red meat which is strange for me. Salt and spicy food is also a no go for me- which I both loved during pregnancy with DS.

I am usually a chocolate girl when it comes to sweets, but since getting pregnant, I’m a fruit girl. I’ve had a lot of strawberry shortcake.
I also crave anything spicy and not just a little spicy, but mouth on fire, wanna kill yourself spicy. I eat it and then I feel sick from heartburn every time, but I can’t refrain even though I know what the outcome will be.
I hate meat. It makes me sick. I can barely cook it. It’s awful, because I know I need to eat some of it for the protein.

Watermelon has been my latest craving – I could easily eat a half a watermelon no problem. I had a granola/milk/berries phase, a yogurt phase, a pancake phase (Sunday’s only as a treat), a burger phase! I couldn’t touch chicken the entire first trimester and now can eat it, as long as its not on the bone. I also have been craving tuna fish, but can’t have it very often, so about once or twice a month I’ll have tuna on white bread with pickles. I feel like I’m eating a kids lunch and its soooo good!

Anything sweet! My Darling Husband and I made a brownie run at 10pm so that I could bake some after hearing the word on TV. Also, cupcakes, skittles, fajitas, cheese, strawberries…pretty unhealthy and random.

Lol. This is hilarious! Glad I’m not the only one who’s all over the place! My cravings have been really weird. This weekend all I could think about was Pad Thai. So the hubs went and bought me some, and as soon as I was done eating it I never wanted it again!
I don’t have as many cravings as I do food aversions. Nothing sounds good to me except rice krispies and chocolate now!

Chewing on ice… I consider it a craving since it’s all I can think about!
Your club sandwich sounds really good, I might just have to pick up the ingredients for it tonight…along with some tums :-/
Cantaloupe is all I want for breakfast. Steak has been on my mind too, yum!

1. Fruit! Anything cold and sweet – grapes, pineapple (until I read it’s kind of bad for you in the first trimester), oranges, strawberries…yum. I ate an entire bag of grapes in one day (fortunately, i was having severe constipation then, so it helped tremendously!)
2. Going along with anything cold and sweet — for my philly girls – i have been loving water ice more and more each time I go to Rita’s.
3. Milk. I like milk but didn’t drink it regularly before getting pregnant. I started having 2 glasses at breakfast every morning around 9 weeks and it continues now at 15.
4. I went through the bagel and cream cheese phase — and it was wonderful while it lasted, but it has passed.
5. I had my first serious craving the other night for a soft baked chocolate chip cookie. I almost sent Darling Husband out but i felt like it was too soon to be sending him on evening junk food runs. Fortunately I got my fix when Mother-In-Law made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies this weekend. I only had 5…plus 10 more.

IT started off with cheez whiz and then it was poutine or fries and gravy then one day i needed ketchup chips. My latest craving was root beer!

@Lindsay05: My whole first trimester I craved root beer! I don’t drink soda, but I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I had a can of it a day.
