I thought of either succulents in terracotta pots…or a honey jar…

I’m making caramel chex mix (it’s my own recipe) and doing them up in celophane bags.  Since most of my guests are flying in, I didn’t want to give them something that would take up space in their luggage.  Plus, since I’m making everything myself, it comes out to about 20 cents per guest.

We are having jordan almonds (its a family/cultural tradition).  Instead of just the almonds in an organza bag as usual, we’re placing the almonds in a mini bird’s nest, so they look like bird eggs…then placing that in the organza bag.  Matches our lovebird theme πŸ™‚

@housebee:  that sounds good!

I think I might have to make something as well.

No favors! We are having a photobooth where guests get a copy of the photo strip and we get a duplicate copy. I guess that is sort of a favor/take-away πŸ™‚

Limoncello for adults, soda pop cap pins for everyone, and a candy buffet.

We are doing smores favors because we love camping.  And they’ll be fun and cheap to make. πŸ™‚

Our friend’s mom makes the most amazing cookies, and will be making football shaped ones for our favors. A football was our STD prop, so it’ll be a nice connection πŸ™‚

@jlow81013:  I’m hand painting wine glasses with our theme and I’m using them for both decorations and favors.

Our favors were all different, depending on which table you sat at. πŸ™‚ Our tables were each based on our favorite TV shows, so they had symbols from the shows rather than numbers.

For example: Doctor Who table all got clip on bowties made from Doctor Who themed fabric. How I Met Your Mother got clip on ducky patterned ties (from when Barney had to wear a ducky tie for a half a season because he lost a bet). The Castle table each got a copy of one of the books from the show that was actually published to have been written by “richard castle.”

So – each favor was something that was a nod to that table’s show. Very few were “collectible” type things and instead were jokes or something. There were VERY few favors left at the tables at the end of the night, and most of those were for guests that couldn’t make it πŸ™‚

Aside from favors that were edible or super practical. I always throw them away πŸ™ and I feel so guily doing so. At our wedding, every place setting will have a small square of paper. The front is a thank for coming sort of thing, and this is the back! (without the right paper or font colors)

I thought to myself, if I can spend thousands on myself. Surely I can give away a few hundred πŸ™‚

In my Armenian culture, we don’t really give edible favors (unless it’s super decorated). We gave huge “rings” to everyone. I hung candy from the rings, but it doesn’t show in the pic.

We’re doing koozies.  Those, plus edible ones or donations, are the only favors I’ve really enjoyed in the past.  I also want to do a DIY photobooth (maybe with one of those new Polaroid-like cameras?) so hopefully we’ll get that together too – people could take home fun instant photos.
