Our honeymoon starts as soon as we can get on the road on Sunday. I can pretty much guarantee that if we planned to go home on the wedding night, I wouldn’t do any of my packing ahead of time, and I’d be wasting time on Sunday morning trying to pack for a week-long vacation last-minute! I don’t want to waste any of our precious honeymoon time so I’m packing ahead of time and getting a hotel so I can’t even be tempted to procrastinate!!

We leave for our honeymoon on Monday (2 days after our wedding). We purposely did this so we could not have to worry about getting anywhere the morning after our wedding. On our wedding night we are staying at the Ritz Carlton, but just in a regular room (suite is ridiculously expensive!!) and we are doing it because our only other options for places to stay are in a cottage with our friends or in Future In-Laws house. I think you should just get a room if you really want to and if that is what you imagined for your wedding night!

We bought a house but aren’t living together until we’re married, so we’ll be spending the night in our house together as Mr. and Mrs. 🙂 The next day we’ll fly out in the morining. I told him that I wouldn’t “do you-know-what” in a hotel for the first time. Just not my style… lol So we got a house! YAY!

I wouldnt worry about making the rest of the wedding “special” or anything because you’re leaving for your honeymoon early in the morning and need to get up even earlier to get ready. So it would perfectly fine if you stay at that place you both like and save the special night for the actual honeymoon.

Are you marrying close to your home? If so – I say skip it. If not, save the money for the honeymoon! You’ll probably be too tired to really enjoy a nice room anyway.

We are hopping straight on the plane. Our flight leaves at 5:30 am and our limo will take us to the airport (after we change).
