Fiance and I are spending a week in our homestate so we can see everyone as they come into town before our Saturday wedding. Then we’ll fly back to our home that Sunday. We might take Monday as a rest day, but otherwise it’s back to our normal routine. We live 1,000 miles from almost everyone we know, so it was very important to us that we spend as much time with them as we could. We spend 300+ days per year just the two of us. A honeymoon felt redundant!

We get married on a Friday, the following day we will hang out with family and friends and that night we will have another party – day after wedding parties are very common in Ireland and always great fun(sometimes better than the actual wedding LOL)

The Sunday will probably include more celebrations as the Monday is a bank holiday in Ireland. We are hoping to go on honeymoon on the Monday πŸ™‚

PenguinLove:  So you decided on France for your honeymoon? I’m sure it’ll be amazing.

We are getting married in italy on 22nd June and are driving there and back (from the UK) with a few friends. There are 61 guests coming out for the wedding and they’re all staying at the same hotel as us so there really isn’t going to be much ‘alone time’. We arrive back in the UK on 25th and have booked into a local hotel for that weekend just to give us a couple of days to wind down and relax….After that, it’s back to work as our honeymoon is not until October!

France sounds amazing! We are getting married the weekend before Christmas so we are going to stay around and do our regular Christmas routine with both families. We are going to Disney World in early January after the New Years crowd leaves so we will also get to celebrate New Years with our friends.

We’re getting married Saturday the 27th too, and then the next day FH’s mom wants us to do a big present opening thing at her house with family… ugh that sounds so awkward. Secretly I am hoping for no presents because we live in a very small place and don’t need a bunch of stuff. lol. Anyway. We were thinking of staying 1 night in a nice hotel Sunday night but not sure yet if we will.

If not, we are going to go out for our first “married date” on the Sunday to a nice restaurant for dinner so that will be fun. I have the Monday off from work, but might go in anyway. Being off from work makes me nervous. lol

Other than that, just chilling for the remainder of the weekend. The following weekend we are attending a friend’s wedding, and I plan to start listing some wedding decor for sale and making back some of this $$$. πŸ™‚

We are also getting married 6/27 and we will be heading to Ocean City MD on Sunday for 5 nights!

michy604:  I would nix the present opening too! What we get (especially  $$$) is a private matter, imo.

We already have a suite booked at a resort casino in our city for the weekend the wedding and two days after. We intend to sleep in the next day, maybe order roomservice breakfest and mimosas and relax. Meet up with family and friends who are left for lunch or dinner. Then spend the next day relaxing by ourselves. Thenfew days at home with the dogs before the honeymoon. We want to have a little down time before a long flight. But we will see, honeymoon isn’t booked yet, so the timeframe might change depending on work schedules.
