We are doing what we like, wether or not it has been done a million times before.  I love burlap, and apparently its pretty popular for weddings, but I dont care! Because I love it.  Not the guests, or anyone else.  See what I mean?  Thats how we are making it personal

We had an arm wrestling table at ours.  Darling Husband is a world champion arm wrestler so a large part of our friends are also arm wrestlers.  We even had a few that came from Scandinavia  to attend.  It was a great addition to our wedding and made for some memorable moments.

My venue is pretty unique and personal. The deck of the largest four masted ship still afloat — it’s got a crazy history, it’s more than 100 years old, and has been all over the world.

I’m wearing a non-white dress most likely. (Not offwhite or ivory or anything close)

This isn’t reception, but we’re doing a self-uniting ceremony.

I haven’t decided about centerpieces yet but something nerdy this way comes, I’ll tell you that right now. (Trying to figure out how to work a TARDIS into it.)

I know alot of other bees have done this before but it’s not something we’ve seen done at any of the weddings we’ve gone to… a candy buffet! SO and I haven’t set a date, found a venue, nor has he even proposed yet, but we have agreed that we want a candy buffet at our wedding because it is so us! We’ve spent many hours drooling over sweets at various candy stores so why not?!? lol

I’m holding the wedding on my parents’ property, so it’s pretty personal that way (we’ll have my dogs and horses there too). Other than that, we’re having a daytime garden wedding, so there will be lawn games (croquet, badminton, bowls, etc.) set up around the garden. After the formal ceremony/reception, we’re having a bonfire and BBQ dinner at the same venue, which is exactly what fiance and I want in a wedding – a nice relaxed chance to have a few drinks and some fun with our friends and family

@Mrs.Charpentier I LOVE your guest book guitar!!! That is so amazing!!!

I tied my culture into our wedding to make it personal. I asked a friend of mine to dance at our wedding. She did the most amazing thing and asked her drum group to come and sing while her and her son danced. It brought me to tears… I was so grateful. Then we had a round dance with all of the guests

  1. We’re having it on my grandparents property, and getting married in the same church my parents and granparents were married in.
  2. We’re offering all the guests limoncello for toasts, as its something special that FI’s family make themselves, and they always drink it at family gatherings and special occasions.
  3. My mum and I are working on fabric flower and brooch bouquets for myself and my bridesmaids.
  4. Our flowergirl will wear the same outfit I myself wore when I was her age as flowergirls for my aunt and uncles wedding. She will carry a teddy bear that wears a miniature version of the same dress – just like I did!
  5. My grandma will be making our wedding cake – she’s incredibly talented!
  6. Our table decor will include items from the family china cabinets, and keepsakes that have been passed down – its a vintage theme.
  7. Our fur baby will be attending the reception!

Our whole wedding is unique to us as a couple.  I am known as very crafty so people will sort of expect me to add personal touches to the wedding, which I will with my diy items (table signs and numbers, woodsy decor, tissue poms. etc.)

Although some of the stuff we’re doing has been done many times before, it has never been done here by anyone in fi’s family (nor have they been to weddings with these things) so it will be a first for everyone and a nice surprise for them to see what we have in store.

I am doing a :

candy buffet

photo frame guest book

popsicle sticks escort cards

programs

cardbox

personalized vows

mock cocktail hour

Also our wedding suits us because it will be simple, laid back and fun.  We’re having our ceremony in a rustic type lodge.  Mot people here get married in a church.  We’re also doing a choreographed bridal party dance which will be a totally fun surprise for our guets.  I LOVE to dance so that is how I incorporate me into the wedding. Also planning on doing a slideshow as well before our grand entrance so that is something new and different for people here. I cannot wait for people to experience my wedding.

I wrote my vows in a harry potter book

Fiance and Bridal Party did a dance.

We had a foot washing ceremony instead of unity candles.
