I’ve had some aggravating encounters with a supplier and a vendor over the last few days, and I know they wouldn’t have been nearly as aggravating if I wasn’t already feeling stressed out about work and the wedding. (There’s nothing specific about the wedding that’s stressing me either, we’re completely on top of things, but I still have nervous energy that’s keeping me on edge.) It’s pretty clear that I need to find a way to de-stress.
Since we’re 6 weeks out, we don’t have a ton of money to blow on a weekend trip or pricey massages. What are you guys doing to de-stress without spending much? The first thing that came to mind was a day of outdoor activity – canoeing or hiking – but our weekends are pretty jam-packed until the wedding so I worry that adding in a day trip would just exacerbate my stress level…

My future ILs whisked me away to their cottage, last weekend. Just them, myself, and Dirty Delete.. it was bliss. There’s nothing like being secluded on an island, and being forced to drink (MIL is bad for ‘peer-pressure’, lol) for some relaxation.

I’ve been hitting the gym like a mad woman, it’s the best way for me to relieve stress, movie nights at home with my Fiance & a glass of wine and going for walks since the weather is finally really nice here! π

I run. Even if it’s only 20 minutes, shoes go on, music gets turned up, and I run it out.

I just remembered that we have a few unused Groupons. So we have a few date nights taken care of. And Fiance offered to take charge of a day trip if I’m able to clear a day for us. I’m totally taking him up on that! π

YOGA and Pilates videos. There are a lot of “freebies” on youtube. They de-stress me and help me to feel more centered while getting a workout in too!

I just went to the shooting range on Sunday (for the first time), needless to say, that’s not the way for me to de-stress…I think it stressed me out. haha
Surfing on wedding bee is helping! haha. Seems like I don’t mind worrying about/solving other people’s problems or just giving some advice.
I also like to go to the flea market or some thrift shops, find some cute jewelry and polish them up. I’ve actually found a few pieces that I’ll be using on my wedding day π
You could always take up a dance class like belly dancing or something, that seems like it could be fun π
Does your city have indoor rock climbing? Unfortunately mine doesn’t, but if it did I would be signed up! Great exercise and a fun challenge

Exercise seriously clears the mind…especially when you have the music blaring and you’re in your own world.

Running, yoga, working out in general. Something about swimming laps. It’s like when you’re in the water you’re in another world and can escape from everything else, the stress and all. Massages help, too and they don’t have to be fancy and pricey. Have a massage night between you and your man.
