(Closed) What are you doing to define your back/shoulder muscles?

I’m doing push-ups, lifting weights (I love lat pulldowns ) and core exercises for my upper body.  I get so sore that I need to take a few days off between working out my upper body…so I just keep up with the cardio and lower body stuff!

Push-ups have been working for me.  I think that my yoga/pilates have toned my arms up, too.  I used to have rocking shoulders when I was on the swim team back in HS, so swimming is a great exercize for arms/shoulders.

Right now I am doing p90x and there is one dvd dedicated to shoulders and arms and one for back and chest. The back and chest dvd focuses soley on different types of push-ups (reg, diamond, decline, etc.) and pull-ups (reg, wide-grip, reverse chin-ups). These are wonderful exercises for defining the back and chest.

The shoulders and arms dvd (my favorite) has you do multiple types of bicep, tricep and shoulder exercises. Some of these exercises you can use a basic weighted dumbell or your own body. Anyway, the shoulder exercises that would be useful to you would be shoulder presses, shoulder flys, deep swimmers press and upright rows.

Don’t fret I am sure you can get details of each workout somewhere online since they are commonly used in exercise routines. I hope this helps. Good luck!
