what about straitening then curling with a big curling iron for some bounce and if your doing a veil just pull back some sides and do like a 1/2 updo…

@Asia:  I’m natural as well but I also wear a sew in 90% of the time.  I will also be wearing one for my wedding although I’m getting married in a winter month I do tend to sweat in my head.

I will be doing it natural in a curly updo (I’m mixed too). Here is an example I threw together.

Just an FYI, I have tight curls in the centre of my head, looser one son the side, and a straight hair patch on the bottom along my neck! What a joy to work with, hahaha.

I will be spraying the heck out of it with hair spray as I get frizzy in humid air too. Lots of product will do the trick. I think your natural curls will look amazing in a messy updo.

@Asia:  Thanks. It was really easy too. Just lots of pins and a braid in the middle. When I get home I will post the tutorial I used.

How long is your hair? Mine is only at my shoulders (growing it out from having a short boy cut for many years)

@Asia:  For sure! I will PM you all the products I use. I stay away from alcohol, silicone and sulphates too. It has been so healthy since I started growing it out and using leave in conditioner. I will send you the brand and explain everything I do. It is amazing though, because now I just leave my hair down and it dries perfectly everyday.

It sounds like your hair length is simialr to mine, since it is at your shoulderblades wet.
