I hate fake nails and I’m not a huge fan of French manicures that are super white and thick. Yuck. I prefer light pink colors. Check out Essie ballet slippers and Fiji. Both are pale pink/neutral and really pretty IMO. Ballet slippers is more pale so probably a better neutral.

I love getting my nails done, so I went to a salon. I went for a super deep dark purple.

I would like to go to a salon because I am useless at shaping my nails, I always make them lopsided. The colour I think I want is from Butter London though, and not many salons carry that brand.

That’s so pretty! It’s funky in a classic, feminine kind of way.
My original plan (before I picked my colour palette) was to have my nails match my flowers. However, I wound up going with bright yellow ones and it’s not a good colour on my skin tone, so I’m going with a gold instead. I’m thinking Urban Decay’s Shine On:
I’m just painting them myself. I’m not a manicure kind of girl. Oh, and my toenails are going to be my something blue!

I loved mine! They were shellaced

If you want that particular color, buy the bottle and then take it to the salon for them to use. I ALWAYS take my own polish to the salon because that way, if and when it chips, you can touch it up yourself!

I’m planning to use a very neutral color but with the gel polish that a lot of places have now so they won’t chip.

I thought I posted these before, but here are some other ideas.

I went to the salon to get a fancy french. I didn’t like how it turned out, so I mixed some OPI colours at home and came up with a perfect neutral colour for my skin tone. Then I re-shaped and re-painted my nails just the way I like them 🙂
It turned out that the more natural look photographs so much better than the French.

I’ll be painting my own nails. I’ve become quite good at it, have long, natural nails, and I love doing it!
My theme will be peach and turquoise, so I’ll probably do a gradient manicure in either/both of the colours, a glitter gradient, or some other nail art I don’t like plain, one colour nails, or the classic french manicure, and the manicures I’m able to do cost about $80 in salons I’d rather splurge more on my dress!

Definitely Gelish at the salon for me. French manicure for my fingernails, but for the pedi I am totally torn… I can’t decide between “up in the blue” and “princess tiara”. My wedding colours are neutral cream tones with navy and lilac accents. I’ve heard that the lilac of “princess tiara” fades to a sort of greyish lavendar after a few days… And I have to have my nails done a week in advance before my destination wedding… *sigh* decisions, decisions. Any advice from ladies who know the Gelish range?

I did shellac. A light pink.

I went for a really simple nude/champagne gel manicure at a salon to match my sash/flowers:
