I am going to change it officially, but keep it professionally.  I told my fiance I was also going to keep it socially…but we’ll see if that happens.

I don’t want to be Mrs. Whatever; he doesn’t want me to keep my name.  So we’ll find a compromise.

As much as I’m looking forward to be going from one very misspelled, mispronounced name to another even more misspelled, mispronounced name (can you hear the sarcasm! lol).. I’m still excited to be taking my FI’s name. I’m all traditional and emotional like that.. lol

I chose ice cream and taking his because well, it’s ICE CREAM! and, I am taking his name, but what I will actually is make my maiden name into my middle name.

So it will be Jane Doe + John Smith = Jane Doe Smith. Wow that sounds weird lol.

I wasn’t sure how to vote since I’m technically taking my spouse’s last name, but I’m moving my current last name to  my middle name and dropping my original middle name (which I hated anyway). I originally planned on hyphenating, but my friends with punctuation marks in their last names said that sometimes, it can be a PITA.

That being said, the only thing that reflects this so far would be our marriage license and my FB. I’m mentally overwhelmed by the prospect of having to change everything else – work contacts/emails, credit cards, SSN, passport, etc.

I’ve always wanted to make up a whole new name like Awesome or something but it’s a no go.

Jasmine Awesome! Mrs Awesome! wouldn’t that be cool?

My last name is Greek, 12 letters long with z’s u’s and you name it. So I’ll be taking the common American last name of my SO. There are at least some cool songs out there about his name.

I can’t imagine making my last name my middle name, My name as it stands is as long as the alphabete, then it’d be even longer.

Damn!  Now I want ice cream.  I took my husbands last name and dropped mine.  Kept my previous middle name.  Mostly because I liked the way it sounded 🙂

I’m taking fiance’s name but I haven’t decided if I will still use my maiden name professionally. I’ve worked hard to get where I am and don’t want to confuse anyone – so undecided on that. But ice cream sounds fantastic…sadly I’m on a diet 🙁 BOO.

Bailey’s Ice Cram Pie at our wedding in lieu of a cake…

And I’m keeping my name; changing my address on my license in this state will be complicated enough….
