I have 6+ months to get myself toned and firmed and maybe drop a few pounds for my wedding. I’m looking for a routine to commit to and I was wondering what other weddingbees are doing/did do before their wedding for fitness? I don’t have the cash to joing a gym. I have a couple of fitness dvds. Ideally, I liked to gain some lean muscle and loose 20 lbs. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I personally like No More Trouble Zones by Jillian Michaels. The big thing for losing weight is watching what you eat. I would consider joining a program or counting calories.

I’ve been working at the toning/weight loss thing since Jan 1, 2010. Lost 20 pounds last year and definitely feel like I look better. I’m continuing the trend this year with the hope of eventually losing another 20 over the course of the year.
I started last year by watching what I ate most of the day and working out 5-6 days a week. I would do 20-30 minutes on the eliptical 3 days and alternate that with a Yoga Booty Ballet dvd. In April I got a Wii and Wii Fit for my birthday. I started using the Wii Fit and the Elliptical everyother day.
Currently I alternate between Wii games — something really aerobic one day and something more focused on strength/toning the other days. Right now I’m rotating between Just Dance and Gold’s Gym Cardio.
For diet, I’m using another gift. I got an Ipod touch for Christmas and found a great free app – LoseIt. Without internet, I’m able to log everything I eat and every excercise I do. It’s making it easier for me to really watch what I eat.
Hope that helps some. For me it has really boiled down to getting some kind of exercise nearly everyday and paying attention to what I eat nearly every day.
The last thing that helps me, Remembering that I’ll never regret working out. When you’re coming up with all the excuses to not work out, remind yourself that you won’t regret workng out, but you’ll likely regret skipping it.
