I have a few things picked out for my bridesmaids as gifts for being in the wedding. I’ll leave groomsmen up to my fiancé. But I really have no idea what to get for the two children – 5 year old girl, 8 year old boy. Toys? Something wedding themed?
What are you ladies doing?
ETA: They’re brother and sister, if that affects your answer at all!

I got my 7 year old Flower Girl a flower charm for her pandora bracelet. She’s old enough that she would understand that she gets a flower charm for being a flower girl. And everytime I see her, she shows me her bracelet and where she got each charm from, so that’ll work.
3 yr old and 1 yr old boys got toy trucks. Not wedding related, but all boys like are trucks!

I got our Ring Bearer and Flower Girl Build-A-Bears, and dressed them in a tux and wedding dress. Super cute, and both brought the bears to the wedding 😀
ETA: Both were 6 yrs old at the time.

- Wedding: September 2014 - Manhattan Church Rec Center
@ykyegbride: We will probably get our 6yo ringbearer something train/truck related.

@ykyegbride: That’s a very sweet and thoughtful gift for your flower girl! She will always remember that, even after the bracelet is long gone.
@littlemisst08: Ooo, that’s a great idea, too!
I’m probably going to have my nephew and niece as my ring bearer and flower girl. They will be 4 1/2 and 2 respectively when our wedding comes around. My niece might be a little young to be in the wedding, but my sister and I think it will be fine if we have my nephew hold her hand down the aisle. Will be interested to see the responses in this thread!

@littlemisst08: That’s a cute idea! I bet the flower girl would love it, though the boy is probably a bit old for that.
@ykyegbride: I like this idea too – I read another older thread with a cute flower bracelet from Etsy.
Whatever ideas I’m liking I’ll probably run it by their mom since she would obviously know what they like best.

@Pinkmoon: I worried about that, too, but he was running around with it all night at the rehearsal dinner, and he had it with him on the wedding day. Don’t know if he still plays with it, but he seemed happy with it!
ETA: Oh you meant your boy. Oops, lol. Yeah, 8 might be a litte too old.

Flower girl – She’s 3 so I’m getting her a bride and groom teddy bear, and I think I’m going to get her some jewellry too. Claires style since she’s only 3.
Ringbearer – He will be 6 just after the wedding. I’m not really sure what we’re getting him yet though, I’m thinking something that his uncle (my fiance) would like since he loves anything his uncle thinks is cool.
ETA: We’re getting them FG/RB t shirts (the jersey style ones from David’s Bridal) and giving them to them a couple nights before the wedding with their presents.

My ring bearers will be 3 and 4. I ordered them super hero capes (with their initial on the back) and eyemasks off of etsy. It will blow their minds. They will love it.

For the girls in the wedding I made them hobo bags and filled them with snacks, water, chapstick, a vintage hanky, hand sanitizer, and something else lol. For the younger boys I got toys, and the older one I got a 49ers blanket. So not really wedding related.

My ring bearer is only going to be 2.5 so he’s getting a toy or a book related to whatever interest he has at the moment.
Yours are older so something wedding related would work. I know that when I was 5 I would have loved something special like a piece of jewlery or music box. For the boy I have no idea, I don’t know what 8 year olds are into 🙁

@Pinkmoon: I didn’t have a flower girl. I got my ring bearer something I knew he wanted rather than a traditional kind of gift for being in the wedding. I aksed his mom and she said he liked halo action figures, so that is what I got him.
Made for some cute photos 🙂

@Pinkmoon: My flower girl is 4. I got her a pink jewellery box with the little musical ballerina in it, and a pretty necklace for her to wear to the wedding that she can also wear when she is older. It’s a little swarovski heart on a sterling silver chain. It’s an adult necklace but we bought an additional kids sterling silver chain so she can wear it now.
My ring bearer is only 1.5. I bought him an adorable LL Bean junior backpack (they’re AWESOME and last forever) and filled it with crayons, a toy and a book. I figure he loves opening and closing bags and putting things in and out right now, and later he can use the backpack for daycare and/or preschool and kindergarten.
