I have no idea. DH is so hard to shop for! We’re going a a cruise a couple weeks before Christmas, so that’s sort of our gift to each other, but I want to get him something else to put under the tree! Ideally, I’d like to get him a watch engraved with our special saying, but seeing as I’m a broke grad student, that gift will have to wait a few years!

@JessicaVictoria814: I hear ya. I was in the same place last year- joint accounts and he made the money. It can be really frustrating shopping for Christmas when it feels like gifts aren’t really coming from you. DH said he didn’t care either but it took me some time to wrap my head around it. Try to remember that it’s the love and thought behind the present that makes it a gift- not the monetary value. Keep your head up! 🙂

SO & I are a little strapped for cash this year (I’m in grad school and his roommate just moved out so he’s paying a mortgage on his own)… plus, our anniversary is December 7th. For the anniversary, we’re splitting a really nice dinner out downtown (my friends love to tease me about this, but it’s either some gift we don’t want or we could put that money towards a delicious and fun dinner).

For Christmas, we set a $25 limit, but I’m not sure I’m going to stick to it. I am definetly making him a calendar with sexy pictures of me (nothing too R rated though). I’m also considering a couple different knives (he’s a collector), some nice beer glasses, a pocket shower for camping, or an axe/hand saw combo for camping, or a nice winter sweatershirt. As for stocking stuffers, I’m definetly doing a knife sharpener keychain and I might go buy Ross/Tj Maxx and pick up some other small things. I love buying presents so I’m struggling to keep it budget friendly…

Fiance and I aren’t really exchanging gifts this year… we bought ourselves a house instead!

@T-Rex zomg I love dinosaur comics!! I’m jealous! Haha, I read a shit ton of webcomics (maybe shouldn’t admit that), but one of my faves is QC… Fiance bought me a pint size QC hoodie for my birthday one year, it’s like my favorite gift ever. Haha. Nerd.

I have no idea what to get Fiance this year… I’m still brainstorming…

So far:

-Soft Kitty from think geek

-a Big Bang Theory shirt from Think Geek

-assorted little stocking stuffers from Think Geek (including Batman symbol ice cube tray, haha)

-a bunch of bamboo kitchen stuff I just got at Beyond the Rack last weekend (bread box, pizza plate, salt holder – he loves salt)

-putting together a shadow box/frame that has a picture of us and then little momentos from things we’ve done together in the other side (a wine cork from dinner in Napa, tickets, etc).

It’s hard b/c I am now stumped and his birthday is the beginning of December (which I’ll be out of town for at a conference – so he gets to enjoy two days in a row of working while I’m not around!).

mine always likes socks, and he needs some new sunglasses.  but i think we might do a household gift as the big one, like a stereo system.

Well…Mr.TKE doesn’t work, so the gifts are completely 1 sided. He’s getting seasons 4 & 5 of the Office (I only buy them druing Xmas [$13 each!]). Mayhaps something else, but probably not. He’s sooooooooo hard to buy for. I know Xmas isn’t about presents, but I still feel bummed that I won’t be getting anything. Nothing on my bday (tomorrow) either, and I’ll be 25.

…end pity party Undecided

ETA: he’s baking me a cake for the bday that I bought all the ingredients for Tongue out

We’re not giving each other gifts this year, instead we’re going on an all-inclusive trip to the Dominican! Since it was expensive, that was our Christmas gift to each other.

He’s a manager, and recently mentioned he wanted to start wearing nicer business wear to work.  So I got him a really nice Brooks Brothers shirt on sale (with French Cuffs) and got him a pair of cuff links licensed by his alma mater.  We’re going to Hawaii for the holidays to be with his family, so we’re not getting each other much.  I’m really looking forward to it though!  We’ve been doing LDR for almost 5 months and it’s going to be great having so much time together.
