Hubby says he doesn’t really want anything for Christmas. I was thinking about getting him a new wedding band (see my other post). But, we’re trying to plan a trip to the mountains for New Year’s, which we did last year, and he says all he wants for Christmas is to have enough cash left over to be able to take our trip.
But, I still want him to have something to open on Christmas morning….I’m a giver, what can I say?, lol!
Anyway, what’s on your guy’s list this year?

Well, since we just got married and spent a nice penny on that, we’ve decided to go halfsies on our raw video footage for our photographer. For $350 we get every last clip, so we’re excited. Otherwise, we’ll just be spending time with family…which we love anyway.

So far I’ve gotten my husband comfy fleece pajamas and Tucker Max’s new book (which I don’t think he knows is out…he’ll be pumped). I’m going to get window guards and a sun roof deflector installed on his car. I don’t know if I’m getting anything else. It just depends on how much the car things cost.

I am so stuck this year. The boy has absolutely everything he needs, and pretty much gets himself anything he wants. I have a strict no shopping rule after November 1st (meaning he’s not allowed to buy himself anything in case it’s what I got him!) He loves camping and kayaking, but again he has so much outdoor stuff I can’t imagine what he needs! I have to start getting creative!

I think I figured out DH’s present today and I’m really excited! He’s an “experiences” guy rather than a “stuff” person like me 😉 So I’m thinking about a weekend away to Prince Edward County, which is about 2.5 hours outside of Toronto. There are tons of farms, a few cheese shops, and a few wineries out there. You can download a map of a “tasting trail” roadtrip where you stop at all these local farms for meals, etc. And I found one place were you can do cooking classes where you go pick all the veggies etc at the farms and then come back and learn to cook it all! It sounds awesome! Plus I found a great spa, so I think I could spring for some treatments too. I’m so excited!!!!

Well last year we exchanged Christmas letters since we couldn’t actually be together day of, so hopefully we’ll be doing that again this year.
I also found some really cool vintage comic books at a charity book sale and so I bought him a couple as a gag gift. Its also in reference to our favorite show to watch together Big Bang Theory, cause they just so adorable and geeky.
I’m thinking about maybe getting him a new wallet or maybe clothes. I don’t think he ever really buys himself clothes so I think that would be nice.

DH’s main gift is a wine fridge. He’s been wanting one for a while now and I’ve kept telling him that 23/24 year old don’t need a wine fridge and that we don’t have space in our apartment (so hopefully I’ve thrown him off). 🙂 I still need to get him a couple smaller things though (we agreed on 4-5 gifts totaling $300-$350 – so the wine fridge is most of my budget).

He got me some new expensive running shoes a couple of weeks ago so that is my present. I am getting his college diploma framed. We are saving money for the wedding instead of dropping a ton of money on gifts for each other. We’ll also do small gifts for stocking stuffers.

We are really bad about getting each other stuff in advance and saying, it’s your Christmas present! We’ve kind of already done that, but this year I’m actually going to have a present for him to open! I’m getting my husband some nice poker chips and a whiskey stone set.

my problem is there’s sooooo much stuff i wanna get him and not enough money to get it all!! lol he needs some new winter clothes and has recently gotten into paintball so i wanna get him gear and stuff for that…we also wanna go snowboarding this winter but have no gear or boards so i thought about buying stuff for that….then there’s the small stuff he likes, like swords and outdoorsy stuff…. i gotta really try not to go bankrupt and just pick one thing (or two or three..lol) to get him instead of it all….lol

How about getting him a gift cert to a nice restaurant or to something he would like to do while you are on your trip for New Years?

Darling Husband is getting a new wedding ring (he lost his a year ago) and I’m signing him up for the fencing lessons he’s been bugging me about for months. He’ll probably also get a portable hard drive, if I don’t have to pay too much up front for the fencing.

So far I am getting him some pajamas, star wars mug set (woo!), and this computer serve thing (network attached storage?), he picked out that one himself. I wanted to get him a roof rack for his car but it would end up being $700 which I do not have!

I got him cufflinks ready for the wedding because I think if I wait and give them just before the wedding he will have gotten a pair himself or cleaned up his old ones. This way he’s prepared 🙂
