I’m buying an antique radio that he keeps checking out at a local antique store. Antiquing is our thing. Our ring is antique, the dress will be antique, and our wedding is going to have an old fashioned, 1940s feel.

We’re not planning on getting each other anything. Actually, when my friend brought it up, we were both shocked that the couple would buy gifts for each other; it just seems strange to me to be spending thousands (in most cases, tens of thousands) of dollars on a wedding, honeymoon and engagement ring, and shell out more for presents for each other. In our eyes, the real gift is getting married, and having a wedding and honeymoon. =)

That’s just us, though. I kind of admire the sentiment of the couples’ gifts (though I’ve always thought the groom’s cake is kind of silly, but I guess it’s supposed to be), and we’re planning on writing letters to each other the morning of. You know, talking about how we feel, how excited we are, etc. But our wedding is low-budget ($4000-$6000 without the honeymoon & engagement ring), so for us, spending even $100 on a gift that we don’t need seems silly.

I’ll be getting my Fiance a nintendo DSI, under $200 something i know he wants and loves and his DS is aging and in need of a new one :] Practical but very fun gift. He helped pay for about the same amount of my Apple.

I dont know if your Fiance is into hunting or guns but my fiance loves guns.  He has been wanting to build his dream gun that when it is complete will cost a few thousand dollars. (which we can not afford at one time)  For our wedding I am going to get him the barrell and get our names engraved on it.  Then for special occasions I will be able to buy him other parts until it is complete.

I’m getting my Fiance a monogramed robe, he doesn’t have one and I thought it would be nice and cozy for the honeymoon.

i still have a long time off, next summer, but I was thinking of a really nice watch, and having the inside engraved "love is timeless" and then our wedding date 08-28-10.  Then maybe just writing him a cute card and signing it, "don’t be late" or something cute like that.

Love all the ideas! I’m thinking about getting him UFC tickets.  I’m not a fan at all.  In fact, I cringe whenever it’s on.  But he gets so excited (along with my brother) – which I find so odd since both of them are so gentle in their nature.  I thought 4 tickets; and he can take his boys and have a boys night out (or weekend).  May have to let him know first due to his work schedule, but I’m sure I can think of other reasons to find out which weekend works for him.  🙂

ejs4y8 – especially liked your sock idea! how fun and cute!

I’m also engraving my Fiance ring with forever, or "and ever" . My rengagement ring came engraved with "forever", so I think it would be cute if his said "and ever". Not positive yet, lol. I’m also getting him some CK briefs as his gift, and maybe a jersey or something.

Ok, I just misread the title of this as "Where are you getting your groom?"  I wasn’t sure whether people were ordering grooms from Etsy these days.  😉

2dBride, I got mine on Amazon.  I used the free trial version of Amazon Prime to get the free two-day shipping. Tongue out

Seriously, though, I’m so glad I found this thread!  It’s been so helpful!  The boudoir photos are a great idea, though I need to lose some major weight before I think about doing something like that…. A watch seems good, too – he loves watches.  I considered getting him Guitar Hero World Tour for his Wii, but then he bought it himself (I didn’t even see that coming…what with him complaining about the prices Tongue out).

Thanks to everyone who posted a suggestion!

Wow lots of girls doing budoir photos!

I opted to get him a really nice watch and a watch case; one of those wooden ones you can put your whole watch collection in.  The mister loves watches though.

Also getting his ring engraved in secret.  Hoping he’ll notice at the ceremony but we’ll see.  I might have to point it out to him later!

I am getting my future hubby a small book of sexy pictures. I am having a friend take the pictures and then I’ll be getting them developed at one of those kiosks at target so I’m not embarrassed!

actually, i got him an amazing pair of binoculars, on, like, 60 percent off sale. he loves birds and is always on the water, and he’s never owned a really great pair. (he’d never spend on himself like that.) since we’re having a destination wedding, someplace exotic and tropical, these will be perfect for the occasion, i think.

I’m giving this book to my Fiance. I actually just finished filling it out last weekend…it took months!!! It has fill in the blanks for every possible way that I can tell him how much he means to me:

(e.g., if we met in a comic strip, the thought bubble over my head wouldv’e said). It is so fun to think of all these different ways to tell him how much I love him. We are also going to give eachother cards and have talked about engraving our rings 🙂
