I am supposed to be watching our budget…the wedding is soon but Nebraska Furniture Mart has no interest for 24 months, so I got him a IPAD! He got me one last year, and he borrows mine at night, so I broke down and bought it tonight. What are you all getting your man??

That’s awesome! Lucky guy 😀 FI and I don’t do gifts for holidays. 😛 I love hearing about what gifts people are getting others, though, so I’m going to be checking this thread. 🙂

I have no damn idea. I bought him a homebrew kit and two beer glasses made out of recycled car windshields last year…not sure I can top that for a beer lover and car junkie- any suggestions?

Our anniversary is the day before, so hopefully we’ll go out to dinner as a combo thing. We never really “do” Valentine’s Day because of how close it is to our anniversary.

I am probably going to get in trouble for spending that much, but the whole selling point was the no interest– Why is my post in shoes lol WHOOPS

We don’t really do V-day gifts either, usually just a card. Our first V-day I got him a couple pairs of underwear.
I do however make something silly and heart-shaped every year… this year will be heart-shaped donuts 🙂

I got him a monogrammed flask. I found a company with a fantastic guarantee and SO has always kinda wanted a flask, but other things have trumped it in importance for more major holidays. We also don’t really do V-day at all (other than going out) because my birthday is on the 17th, but I want to change that! We’re poor so it’s just the flask, but I don’t think he’s expecting anything and I’m excited to surprise him!

Our official stories are that we aren’t getting each other anything. Of course that’s bs. He’s going to get me chocolates and maybe flowers, and I’ll probably get him a card and cookies.

We usually just exchange cards and have a nice dinner 🙂

- Wedding: August 2013 - The Liberty House
nothing! we may or may not celebrate, but either way he doesn’t get a present. He doesn’t even really like presents. On the 5 love languages quiz, he got 0 for gifts.

We will be going to see Die Hard 5 haha. We don’t usually anything big. One year we went to a gun range and then saw Rambo 4. Best V Day ever actually!

He’s going to be 2800 miles away in CA, so I’m mailing him a love box! So far, I’ve decided to put:
- a mix cd (gave him one as a going away and I’m sending one every month he’s gone)
- this cute chef teddy bear that I’m going to spray with my perfume
- homemade cookies
in it, but I’m trying to think of a couple more ideas.

A graphic novel that was sold out at Christmastime (Building Stories), a Squishable (he’s obsessed with making a pit of Squishables in our library to lay in while reading), and a big homemade dinner (filet mignon with a Béarnaise sauce, pistachio-crusted shrimp with a pesto sauce, scalloped potato stacks, and roasted broccoli; chocolate mousse & homemade shortbread cookies for dessert.)
