I’m still trying to decide this for myself! Here are some ideas that I’ve run across that I like. I won’t be using all of these, but here’s what I’m tossing around:

– Cosmetic bag from Thirty One (I’m going to host a party in the fall, so I should be able to get a discount on these), filled with the following:

  • Bath and Body Works travel sized lotion and shower gel
  • Asprin
  • Mints
  • Kleenex
  • Blotting paper
  • Shout wipes
  • Some other emergency “day of” things that I can’t think of yet.

– A necklace

– Water bottle

– Flip flops

– Picture frame

– Something from the Coach outlet mall (it can be fairly inexpensive when you have a coupon)

– Possibly a Starbucks gift card, since there is a Starbucks in the hotel lobby where we will be staying.

– Something that is individually unique to them.

I am the last of our friends to get married, and I was in two of the last three weddings, so I feel like my gift has to match up with theirs. My one friend especially went all out, so I feel like the pressure is on! Plus, all but one member of my bridal party will travel from at least 2 hours away (two are coming in from the West Coast), so I feel like I should make sure the gifts relate to what they’re spending on the wedding.

I got my Maid/Matron of Honor and bridesmaids clutch bags to match their dresses, matching necklaces, and a silver heart compact mirror.

Right now I’m thinking a bottle of wine, a wine glass with their names or initials on them and a framed photo of us.

It changes like once a week though. ๐Ÿ™‚

This is a good question.

As the bride (and the MOB), you already spend a lot of money on the wedding and your bridesmaids usually know this very well.

I don’t think they expect an elaborate gift.

My daughter had 6 bridesmaids.

We gave them a nice tote bag (purchased online and paid about $5/each).  It was well-made and attractive.

In the bag we put:

some Bath & Body Works products we got on sale***, tissues, mints, cute note cards/stationary, eye cover/mask, their jewelry for the wedding, and a very sweet thank you note (handwritten) to each girl.

They loved it and were very appreciative.

Some of the weddings my daughters have been in got this:

The “bridesmaid” tote bag (oriental trading) with their jewelry, some candy, and flip-flops.

A water goblet that the bride painted and their jewelry.

A basket with some candy in it.

And nothing at all, but the jewelry for the wedding.

Everyone’s budget is different.

Do what you can, but the main thing is to be thoughtful.   That very sweet handwritten note covers lots of territory. Wink

***bath and body works has a sale twice a year.  You can get the full size soaps for $2 each and lotion for $3/each.  Just a suggestion and makes good hostess gifts for your showers too when put in a nice bag with a nice note.

I am thinking of doing the Bridal PArty Emergency kit and will get a cute bag for the items to go inside. I am also going to do a bottle of wine and personalized wine glasses from etsy, a picture frame with a picture of me and each bridesmaids from when we were in high school and then of us at the bachelorette party, and then a cd with a mix of songs that reminds me of each of the girls. I have been friends with my girls since elementary school and theres certain songs I hear that reminds me of each of the girls and reminds me of when we were younger so I will make a different cd with different songs for each girl. Still tryign to think of more ideas as well…
