@Miss_Moose:  My mom we got a nice shirt (she has a really hard time shopping for herself and calls me her personal shopper!) and some local blueberry jam.

For Mother-In-Law we got a “Lake Michigan Unsalted” sweatshirt, another local popularity with some lighthouse placemats that Fiance found.  She changes her placemats with the season, it’s kind of a family joke 🙂

My mother requested new gardening gloves… I think I’m also going to get her some nice jewelry as well.

She had this particular necklace I remember that she wanted in an antique shop when I was little, and I look for it every year around her birthday/mother’s day, but so far that’s been a fruitless quest. Sigh!

I got my mom some personalized stationery from Minted and the. freaking. cutest. peony paper wreath from Paper Source. (Haha, I don’t work for either of these companies, I swear!) Still have to assemble the dang wreath at some point…

Just out of curiosity, at what point did ladies start helping their SOs/FIs/DHs pick out gifts for the (F)MIL? I’ve never helped Fiance before, and I think one year that we were dating, he forgot!

I got my mom a book called Mother’s Day Mice. It’s a really sweet story and it’s illustrated by one of her favourite authors and illustrators- Jan Brett. She loves books and she’s a Kindergarten teacher so I think she’ll find it really special (: I might also get her some of her favourite protein bars, but the store that sells them is an hour away and has some weird store hours so that might not happen aha.

We can’t get anything for my FI’s mom, because she passed away several years ago. I would have loved to help pick stuff out for her though (: We might bring flowers to her grave.

I always get my mum flowers and phone her.

We (English people) celebrate mothers date a lot earlier than the US one, but i’m so glad you reminded me the US one is coming up. Here in Mexico it’s the same date, and its normal to wish pretty much everyone a happy mothers day (if theyre *a* mother imean, but they don’t have to be *your* mother) and i find it hard to remember the date to send a message to my MIL!

My sister and I are taking our mom out for dinner – Japanese at her request.

My husband and I bought my mom a condo last year, and so she never wants us to buy her any other presents. But we’ll probably get her some flowers and a card 🙂

A MyPublisher album of photos from the sisters trip I took with my sister last year.  My sister is 12 and my mom keeps asking for the pics so I decided to give them to her in a nice album.  It’s a great keepsake for her that she can pass down to me or my sister later.

Last Sunday, I took my mom to the Huntington Library annual plant sale and bought her some fabulous potted plants (we are both avid gardeners), then treated her to a yummy lunch at a nice Chinese restaurant.

I also got her two coordinating metal lanterns that I will fill with other potted plants so it looks like a terrarium but without the committment. One of the two lanterns looks like a monastary we visited together many years ago during a family trip to Europe.

Lastly, I got her this big, upright basket (with handles) for her yarn and needles. She crochets all the time and has mentioned that she has a hard time finding storage options for her yarn.

I haven’t a clue what my husband wants to do for his mom. Sigh… I’ve got some work to do for her gift.

I bought my mother a new orchid several weeks ago when I was visiting home because I knew I wouldn’t see her for mother’s day.

I got her a necklace & earring set from Khol’s. I can’t give her what I usually give her this year, so I hope she likes them.

I got her a card, and then went in on a ring that she really wanted with my siblings! I’m getting her the best present of all though, the weekend after, I’m announcing my pregnancy to her!
