I went to a local craft fair and happened upon a booth selling scarves made from the scraps of old Japanese kimonos that were taken apart for cleaning and for one reason or another never reassembled. I bought one for my mom and can’t wait to give it to her!

I started making really cool Mixbooks of photos of me with my parents growing up, but I lost track of time with all of the business of the holidays and didn’t finish it. I ended up buying my dad some nice clothes for work and getting my mom some nice soaps and stuff… I know, kind of lame.

I don’t have parents; just my inlaws and we are giving them cash/ Lowes giftcards. They just bought a cabin that they are completely gutting and redoing and it will help them towards that. Plus they are the hardest people to buy for!!!!

I got my mom a kindle and my dad some new pj’s (it’s a tradition, he gets them every year). For my in-laws we are taking everybody to fantasy in lights at Callaway Gardens which is another of my traditions!

My mom wanted socks.  lol!  She wanted really thick socks, so I got her some thick boot socks.  She also wanted candles, so I got her some Yankee candles.  My dad wanted a lightweight jacket thing.  FMIL wants a scarf from Nat Geo and we’re getting Future Father-In-Law a brew your own beer kit.

I remember my dad telling me how much he LOVED seeing The Hangover 2 at the theatre, and it shocked the hell out of me, lol.  I mean he’s like 65 and such a dork, and I never would’ve thought he’d like that type of humor.  So he’s getting the dvd, but I’m stumped on what to do for my stepmom.  (She did NOT enjoy the movie, lol)

6 months to wedding and fiance just lost his job last month, needless to say Christmas is a little different this year… Can you say BUDGET!!!

We got combo gifts for both parents My parents as well as his are getting $100 gift cards for the KEG Steakhouse and movie theatre package with two movie passes and popcorn/drink for both.  Kinda boring I know, but between me and the hive, we have a points reward program at work where you get points and can redeem them for gift cards etc..!  SO call me cheap, but I did work hard to earn them, but the gifts cost me NOTHING out of pocket!

A book each for my mom and dad (secondhand, but that’s kind of a family thing –we thrift shop for each other allll the time), a beautiful personalized family tree print for my dad who is into genealogy, and a Shutterfly album of our engagement pictures (plus whatever prints she’d like) for my mom, who always complains about “how photos these days just stay on the computer and I can never show them to anyone.” (Love you Mom!)

For the future in-laws…a book that I think Future Father-In-Law will like, and another copy of the photo album for the family. Need something specifically for Future Mother-In-Law yet, but she’s actually really easy to buy for. I still have time, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

DH’s dad and step mom: A gift card to a really nice restaurant (and maybe something else small)

DH’s mom: a sephora gift set with really nice makeup I thought she’d like

DH’s step dad: a $40 gift card to dunkin donuts. He is the most practical person ever and hates gifts generally but he’s also kind of cheap and looooves dunkin donuts so we get him gift cards there so he can splurge on coffee. I ordered it online though with this photo (that I took of our cats) because 1) it would be more personal 2) it cracks me up 3) he is kind of a serious person and the idea of him using a card with THIS on it cracks me up double:

For my dad: Seasons 1 and 2 box sets of Sons of Anarchy, $20 gift card to amazon (my mom is getting him a kindle so i thought he could use it for books

For my dad: a canvas print of a photo she liked from our honeymoon and something else– not sure yet!

My mom: Kindle, $25 gc to Amazon (for a few books), Contigo travel coffee mug, kcups (she hardly ever buys them because she thinks they’re too expensive), framed pictures from our wedding, photo book of our wedding pictures, PJ pants, LL Bean slippers and a bunch of cheapy stocking stuffers.

My step dad: $50 lowes gift card, PJ pants, LL Bean slippers, framed pics from our wedding, glass treat jar (I’m DIY etching his initials onto a large glass jar that I’m going to fill with all of his favorite treats) and some stocking stuffers. He’s hard to buy for so we keep him pretty simple.

DH’s parents: iPad to share, 8×10 framed and matted pic of DH’s side from our wedding & a photo book of wedding pictures

DH’s mom: DIY etched Pyrex dish (with their last name).

DH’s dad: iPad case
