I’m trying to figure out how I can sneakily and cheaply frame a picture of my husband’s grandfather as they were very close and he doesn’t have any pictures of him. I’m thinking if I don’t do it for christmas I will be doing it for his birthday I think.

brideandblue :  I’m hoping that he doesn’t change his mind / try to change mine on our decision not to do gifts this year. We have more important things to do with our money and neither of us really need anything.

We just bought a cabin on 10 acres and we both agreed that Christmas will be about buying items for the cabin.

REI giftcard. He’s INSANELY picky but always needs more outdoors stuff. I’ve asked for an Amazon giftcard in return, so I think it will go over well.

My fiancee wanted a PS4 Pro bundle that was apparently only available for a limited time so I bought her gift very early. I would have saved it for Christmas, but she begged me to let her have it so I gave in. Lol. I’ll probably get her something really small like a goody bag of her favorite treats to open the day of, but that’s it.

sharpshooter :  We have a log cabin on acreage so let me know if you need any pointers on cabin stuff!!

I’ll probably be getting FH a new set of nice binoculars and some wool cold weather base layers. Our wedding is February so we’re (hopefully) not doing much this year.

I get stockings and a small gift for a few of our good guy friends who don’t have good family relations, too. They’ll each get a Pendleton throw blanket and I’ll fill their stockings with little goodies – coffee, candy, gum, etc.

I got him a funny sign about this marriage being put on hold for football season, a sweatshirt, and I’m getting him a new pair of work boots too. I know he really wants a Garmin watch but I just do not have a spare $500 right now. Hopefully I can get it for a wedding present in July 🙂

misty2007 :  thanks!  Every weekend we go up, I think of about 10 more things we need.

I do think I’m going to get SO, his DS1 and DS2, DS1’s Girlfriend and I matching stockings for up there and maybe buy some stocking stuffers.

My damn husband buys everything he wants for himself before I can even write it on a list, he drives me absolutely insane. I usually make him a bunch of his favorite baked goods leading up to Christmas and get him one little “ha I remembered” gift. This year it’s a knife he mentioned really wanting a month or two ago. We are saving for a house, so no big presents for us.

slomotion :  But what if he already gets that any ol’ day of the year, and I want to get him something extra special since it’s Christmas?

We are going on a shopping spree in NY and picking out our gifts together. I am going to put together a lay flat album of our wedding photos as well and surprised him with him. He loves those lululemon metal vent tech T-shirt’s and long sleeves so probably one of those. We’ve been going back on forth between dance lessons and cooking classes in January so one of those as well!

Probably going to buy him a Pixel. We’re not supposed to be doing expensive gifts this year but I hear him complain about his phone’s battery life on an almost daily basis. Other items I considered and i know he wants just to give ideas: M1 garand, climbing deer stand, nice watch, dress shirts (might put one in a stocking still, can’t have too many), fun wool socks, better power tools, a bunch of ribeyes
