When we first started dating we planned a fun night out together and got each other cards, chocolate, flowers, teddy bears, all the cliche stuff. But now that we’ve been together for so long we just go out to dinner at a low-key restaurant and watch tv on the couch afterward. Not the most romantic but perfect for us.

We don’t do much and come to think of it, neither of us has gotten the other’s real Xmas present yet either (bike rack for him, bike for me).  I’ll probably make a meal at his request and he’ll get me flowers. Maybe we’ll convince a brother to babysit that weekend for a meal out. We’re thrilling ๐Ÿ˜

We don’t give gifts for Valentine’s, but do use it as an excuse to go out for dinner and buy chocolate.

This year the chocolate will be a true gift since we’ve been limiting the amount of artificial sugar in our diet for the past month. I’m looking forward to it!

We live in a very rural area and the restaurants options around are chinese food or pubs lol. So we’re going to the nearest city for the night on the weekend. I found a great deal on a fancy hotel suite with champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and pastries. We’ll go out to a nice restaurant and just enjoy being fancy for the night! I looked into massages but everything was pretty booked up already. The next day we’ll probably run all kinds of wedding errands since all our errands have to wait until we’re in the city lol. I doubt we’ll do any kind of physical gifts, but I did order some new slutty lingerie so Happy Valentines day to FI! lol

We don’t normally buy each other gifts.  We just go out for dinner, but because his birthday is two days before, we kind of just celebrate both at the same time.  I am getting him a t-shirt for his birthday and I don’t know what else.  He wanted to go on a vacation for his Birthday/Valentine’s to somewhere warm, we can’t cause my son has school.  He offered to take him with us but just didn’t want to pull him from school.  He always takes me on a Birthday trip, but this year, probably not because we have yet to sell our other house and we want to keep within the budget.  ๐Ÿ™‚  Every day is Valentine’s day for us!

He will be out of town which is fine. Valentine’s Day is not a holiday I actually like. If we were going to be together than it would dinner and a quite night at home basically like a regular Friday or Saturday date night. I am just not into the Valentine’s Day hype.

I think Valentine’s Day is about the dumbest holiday next to New Years. We don’t get each other anything, aside from maybe saying “Happy Valentine’s Day.” ๐Ÿ˜‚

We just do cards. It’s DH’s birthday in Feb, mine in March plus UK Mother’s Day is in March so we decided to just skip valentines.

wineosaur : We don’t exchange gifts for Valentines Day, apart from the one time my husband bought me a teddy bear holding a heart that says “Shit bitch you is fine” lol.

We generally just stay home and cook a fun dinner, something that we wouldn’t normally take the time to cook and drink a bunch of wine. Husband just brought home a bottle of nice whiskey and Moet so we’ll probably bust those out.

We exchange cards and that’s it. We don’t do anything special. We celebrate our love everyday!
