I was engaged last year in May so we decided for a 2 year engagement so that we would have plenty of time to really think about what we wanted to do and buy things little by little. I think I have the perfect plan for my bridal party. For the girls, I am buying them a tote bag that either reads “Bridesmaid” or has their name on it. Inside I am giving them personalized hangers with their name, a wedding movie (Bridesmaids, 27 Dresses, or Bride Wars), an emergency kit for the day of and a bridesmaid koozie. For the Flowergirl, a totebag + I found some really cool wedding paper dolls on Amazon. I’m still trying to figure out what else I can put in there, it should be pretty easy. For the guys, a bag with their favorite team, a small bottle of booze, and the movie “Groomsmen”.
Let me know if any of you have any other great ideas!

@TxTornado: Those gifts sound awesome! I just posted a similar message. I purchased my 2 girls lipsticks, clutches, robes and earrings. If I may make a suggestion…I would put their names on the bags. That way they’re more likely to use it again. I find most bridesmaids don’t reuse their “bridesmaid” labeled items.

@TxTornado: i wouldnt do bridesmaids on the bags because they may never get to use it again, maybe their monogram!
we got each of our bridesmaids a burlap clutch, a pashima, and filled the clutch with a “survival kit”
our flower girls are both really young so we got them a stuffed animal, a little purse and a hair bow
for the groomsmen we are making them each a gift basket with liquor, a mason jar, sode, cigars, and a shot glass

so far we are paying for two nights accomodations in a large shared cabin for them, i am also making fabric flower bouquets that they can keep and “red neck wine glasses” (mason jar on a candle stick). The non-wedding related will be a nice set of make up brushes, porcelain tiles designed by an artist in el salvador that i bought on a recent trip, making each a wire and sea glass necklace (sea glass from bermuda), and i will be picking up a few odds and ends when i go to New York like umbrellas just in case, tote bag, and possibly a starbucks travel mug with a gift card.
haha they better like it :p

I paid for their dresses, shoes, hair and makeup, then bought them a necklace from Blue Nile.

For the guys, we got gift cards (they’re all gamers, so we figured they could pick their own game) and I made them super mario boutonnieres. For my girls I got coach wristlets, sephora gift cards, emergency kits, and I made them earrings and necklaces (each girl got a different design) and a macaron coin purse. No one in our wedding party had to pay for attire, hair/make-up, accessories, shoes or accommodations.

@TxTornado: I am giving them some really pretty personalized purse hangers( for the table). I had never seen one until my future Mother-In-Law whipped one out while we were out to dinner one night.

We gave the guys the Original Brazilian flipflop. The ladies, the same flipflops plus some fun things from the LUSH store and then I gave my Maid/Matron of Honor all that plus a gift card for a spa. She did so much for me!!
We ended up with those awesome flipflops because NOTHING else seemed right. We wnated to give them something that they will use a lot after the wedding.

@TxTornado: I’m trying to avoid things that are too wedding day specific, so they can use them again. I’m not sure i”m giving a tote bag, but It has crossed my mind. if I do it will be personalised with their name or initials so they can use it again.
other wise they are getting a picture frame, to put a special picture of us from the big day, a willow tree figureine that is fitting to them/me/us our relationship dynamic. a gift tag that says thank you for being my ____ it’s made out of wood and will have ribbon on it that they can repurpose to just hang up all the time as a reminder, or into a christmas ornament. gift certificate towards day of hair/make up. and then I’m not sure what else.
