MIL/FIL – Gourmet snack basket with cookies, tea, biscuits, chocolates. They have an RV and are planning a holiday trip so we thought this would be a nice treat for them to share.

SIL – Both are getting bath sets. One is the Sanctuary brand by Covent Garden brand (UK) and the other is Baylis and Harding (also UK). Tried to pick scents they would like.

Brother-In-Law – Both are getting men’s bath sets, again nice brands in scents they’ll like.

Nephew (4 year old) – Harry the Christmas Mouse book and a flashlight that projects different images of dinosaurs on the wall.

Niece (3 year old) – Spinderella children’s book and a children’s Bus Stop board game to play with her parents

Nephew (infant) – cute baby outfit

My parents – still undecided

Well this year both are getting framed engagement pictures!

I also get my mom some sort of gadget/houseware appliance she wants and I get my dad a tool or something for the boat, so they’re easy

His parents are a little more difficult, and this is an especially difficult year for them (his dad is in the ICU and has been for a while, we’re hoping he makes it to Christmas), so we are going a little more sentimental with the gifts. We got them the picture they really liked of us framed, and we are working on some other options!

Typically we just get them what they ask for, though, or what they need! His dad is really into cooking/grilling so we alway get him something to go with that and usually we get each set of parents a nice bottle of wine/liquor depending on their preference!

I’m getting my parents an Amazon Echo, a Michigan giftbasket, a framed picture of my brothers and me at Thanksgiving, bluetooth earbuds for both of them, and a coffee mug for my mom.

No clue what we’re getting SO’s parents yet.

Mother-In-Law & Father-In-Law – they just got a new camper so we are getting them a new outdoor rug they want. Also got them a personalized flag to stick out in front of it.

My dad – he’s taken up kayak fishing and camping too. I got him a small emergency camping stove that works essentially off leafs and sticks lol. Also got a water filter tube that he can drink straight from a stream/puddle. He’s not that rugged, but it was $10 on amazon lol.

My mother – she travels a lot so I got a collapsible luggage that starts as a pouch and expands to a full 22″ suitcase. She is also getting a quilt pattern she wants.

My SIL – a yarn knitter ceramic brown

My Brother-In-Law – as of right now, local hot sauce that’s my favorite go-to present for guys

My own parents are gone, so it’s just the soon-to-be in-laws, who I truly love as if they were my own parents. They are amazing, wonderful, beautiful people and I really want to give them something they truly love and that shows them how much I appreciate them.

They are huge Seahawks fans (we live in Seattle) and I was at a total loss on what to gift them this year. So, on a bit of a whim, I am hand-making them a crocheted fuzzy, warm blanket in Seahawks colors with a pattern of my own making. Assuming I can actually pull off what I’m envisioning. 🙂

Here’s hoping it works out, because I know if it does they will absolutely be over the moon about it!

I got my mom a “family celebrations” wood sign for the wall to list birthdays and anniversaries. Everyone loved it, so this year I got one for my future mother-in-law. I also get my Mother-In-Law candles because she loves to burn them all the time.

Charliejeorge :  My mom is already tough to shop for (she never wants anything!) and her birthday is also three days after Christmas, so I try to get creative. I’m super excited about her Christmas gift this year – my husband and I are taking her to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra! She loves their music and plays their Christmas songs all winter long. The timing finally worked (she has a difficult work schedule to work around) so we’re treating her to lunch and then taking her to the show 🙂

My in-laws recently downsized and moved into a small apartment, so I don’t want to give them anything that will become clutter. Last year, I made a desktop plaque on Shutterfly that had a few nice pictures of us and read “Favorite Memories of 2017”. I did that for most of my family along with gift cards to their favorite restaurants, cafes, etc.. So I think experiences can be a nice way to switch it up, from concerts or shows to a Paint and Sip Night or an Escape Room if you think they’d be into that kind of thing.

Charliejeorge :  Well you inevitably have to ask about their schedule, but you don’t necessarily have to tell them what you plan on doing. TSO tickets aren’t cheap and they had two concerts to choose from on the same day (3pm and 8pm) so I wanted to see which time would work best for my mom. I called her up and asked, and then after I got the go ahead, I purchased the tickets and then confirmed with her that we’d see her that afternoon for lunch and then we were taking her out. My mom doesn’t like surprises and kept asking what we were doing, and why her Christmas present was coming so early (the concert is mid-December) so eventually I just told her and she was SO excited. It would have been nice to have kept it a surprise but we’ll have a great time regardless.

littlemisspetite :  Can you tell me where you got the socks at? I want to get Darling Husband a pair and I just don’t know which website to order from! I’ve been leaning toward pupsocks.com, but would love to hear from someone who has actually ordered some!
