It depends how much money you want to spend… what about a nice bottle of wine, a gift certificate to a restaurant, or maybe even a weekend away?

I am making them albums for after the wedding.  I also made my mom and dad an album with pictures of the family as I was growing up.  Mom loved it!  I gave it to her awhile ago because I didn’t get anything for the Father-In-Law, so I didn’t want to give it to them in front of them…

His dad: bottle of liquor
His mom: a sterling silver pendant with the chinese character ‘love’ (I’m Chinese, so it was a way to share something from my culture with her in a meaningful way)
My mom: engraved keepsake box
My dad: picture frame that said somethign to the effect of ‘no matter how old, i’ll always be daddys girl’ and I just printed a picture from the father/daughter dance for it.

Oh no… I didn’t know we were to give gifts to our parents also… I might give my grandparents something small they can both use like a 2 person tea set with relaxation tea? I might give my mother a card too…

I’m giving my mom and Future Mother-In-Law a hankerchief that has a poem on it (from Etsy) and then a card to the parents.  Afterward we are having albums made for them….

We’re going to wait until after the wedding and get prints of the photos w/us with each respective parents/group of parents. We’ll do a decent size print with matte and frame for each. We wanted to do something personal that they could always hold on to and cherish.

I am giving them framed letters.  The frames are engraved with “We Love You”.  I will write a letter to my parents and Fiance to his.  We will put the letters in the frames, and then later they can use the frames for a photo from the wedding that they choose.

We gave my parents a gift card to a really nice restaurant in Detroit- somewhere they would never go. A few months after our wedding they took one of their friends out and had an incredible time (my mom borrowed one of my jackets and actually vomitted on it on the way home- good times were had by all 🙂

I had ordered my mum a custom embroidered blanket (I will post the picture once I recieved it) and for my dad, I plan to give him a pair of crystal wine glasses.
