This is a FUN thread! The ONLY boys name we both like is my maiden name (People think I am crazy for wanting to name my kid after my maiden name but we both think it’s cool to keep my dad’s family name in the family since it’s a cool 1st name)…Wyatt. His middle name would be Allen which is both FI’s and my grandpa’s middle name. So Wyatt Allen Marcotte. But that’s not set in stone cause we may change our minds…The GIRLS name on the other hand is set in stone. Addison Joye. My middle name is Joye and I have always loved the name Addison and want to call her Addy and Fiance agrees it’s a beautiful girls name. Hope to get started on baby making SOON!!! πŸ™‚

We’re hoping to have four when it’s all said and done (and less than a year until we start trying, yay!). I once joked with Fiance that I wanted all Irish first names since I’m taking his English last name (I have a very Irish first name), and we’d divvy up middle names for family members. Somehow the joke stuck and that’s now our plan. πŸ™‚

1) Liam David

2) Patrick Steven

3) Teaghan Kay

4) Brynn Margaret

My mom’s the only one who knows our name choices, and she’s thrilled with them. We’re keeping them quiet otherwise so they’ll be surprises, and because my extended family is nosy and opinionated. πŸ˜‰

A PP mentioned that double middle names are hard to yell at children…my brother’s name is Steven Michael Thomas, and let me tell you, mom had no trouble yelling that when she needed to. πŸ˜‰

Girl: Ava Rose

Boy: Jack Eli (both vowels are pronounced long, like Eely)

The middle name for the girl is after my husband’s grandmother and the boy name is after both of our maternal grandfathers, who shared the same name. We have another girl picked out, but its our choice for a second girl and we haven’t even started TTC on our first child yet. I kind of hope we have twins (they run in my husband’s family), a boy and a girl, since I love both our names and want to use them!!

@rbuchanan0

I had many names picked out and changed them several times when I was pregnant. Romana Lillian is the name we chose to honor our deceased grandmothers. We call our daughter Romie for short. Her first name means lady of Rome.

@eeruhlig:  Thanks! I’ve only met one other little girl with a similar name. Her name was Rome. I looked at the census and since the 1930’s it is a name that has almost disappeared. Crazy, right? We love the name even more because it’s unique and reminds me of my grandma.

@VictorianLilac718:  its stunning! I wish I had a Fiance who liked unique names. Right now I am trying to get him on board with Elodie because I just love it.

@eeruhlig:  We had a string of non-traditional names: Girl: Honor. Summer. Boy: River. Leif.

If I have a girl next time, We’re naming her Bellamy Elena. We have Italian family so we want to stick with those style names, and Elena is after my other grandmother.

Maybe your Fiance will come around. How do you pronounce Elodie?
