My mom and my Mother-In-Law both asked me for direction before they picked out their dresses for the wedding. I’m kind of a terrible girl, so I didn’t really care, but I sat down with my mom and we decided together that some sort of blue would compliment the green Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses and white/green/yellow flowers. My mom ended up going with a navy blue dress and my Mother-In-Law picked out a teal-ish dress.

They both talked and coordinated length and formality of the dresses before they went shopping.

@partyplanner83:  a dress that flatters her and she looks good in.

@partyplanner83:  Maybe this could help: http://design-seeds.com/index.php/search

You can adjust the slider bars at the top to get the color you want and it will show the palettes that have that color in it. After looking at it, a nice silve/gray/charcoal dress would look really good and it wouldn’t be nearly as harsh as the black.

@partyplanner83: Ok, thanks for your clarification! My mom and Mother-In-Law was just wearing whatever they wanted as long as it went with the overall dress code. In fact, my mom wore her own wedding dress for my day!

Our colors are red, white, and black. My mother’s dress is navy and my FMIL’s dress is neutral tones (I haven’t seen her dress but she described it as taupey/tan with floral pattern). I let them pick whatever color they wanted.
