We don’t do gifts (for any holidays!) but we are celebrating tomorrow by going to The Book of Mormon and having a nice dinner afterwards. On Valentine’s Day itself, we always just snuggle up at home and eat in.

We decided to cook a nice dinner together, and then we’re going to a bookstore and we’re each going to pick out a book for the other person and exchange them afterwards!

pumpkinwaffle :  I keep putting this on every Valentines Day thread but I need it to happen because I have no other ideas!

I plan on giving Darling Husband a BFP as a gift. We’ve been trying for 8 cycles now and I need this to work, dammit! I’m 10DPO right now so I could sucessfully get a BFP on a digital by next week and wrap it up to give to him.

If that doesn’t work out, I’ll just hand him a pack of negative, peed on Wondfo’s haha

We ordered a new dishwasher about a month ago and it is scheduled to arrive on 2/14, so I think he will go to Sears after work to pick it up and install it. I doubt we will go out for dinner, too crowded on actual V-day, so probably will have a nicer dinner out over the weekend.

We are exchanging gifts. I have no idea what he got me, but I know he ordered it on Amazon over two weeks ago (he is normally so very last second about gifts, so this pleased and surprised me).

I have gotten him a card from our cat and a heart shaped box that has two cats on the front and mini Kit-Kat bars inside for her to give him. He will also gift me a card/small present from our cat.

I have gotten him a card so far from me. I have been thinking of going to a local acupuncture place to see if they do gift certificates. He suffers from terrible migraines and for a few years we have talked about him giving acupuncture a try (can’t hurt) but he has never gotten around to making an appointment anywhere.

I’m making a special dinner for him when he gets home from work since I have the day off. I can cook so no point in fighting crowds and waiting hours for food that I could make better at home.

heavenlyflower :  HEY! We’re doing this exact thing too! We have tickets for the matinee with reclining seats and then I get to grub on Cheesecake Factory – it’s one of my favorite restaurants and it’s quite a drive, so I’m stoked we’re making it happen! Grandma is watching the baby – will be our first time leaving him 😳. BUT I’m super excited!

fromatoz :  lollzzzz.

Uh yeah we haven’t even discussed V-day yet. I’m not sure it’s on DH’s radar and it’s barely on mine. He usually brings me flowers, which is a lovely gesture, except he always forgets that one of our cats loves to eat them (and promptly puke them up), so we can’t really keep them in the house! If I can pull my shit together in time maybe I’ll surprise him with an elaborate dessert type treat.

heavenlyflower :  oh gawd, pls don’t get me started with Cheesecake Factory. I always get the same entree there- crispy chicken costelleta which is probably like 3000 calories (I always get to go box and eat 1/3 three times) and for dessert, I get red velvet cheesecake (I don’t care if people think red velvet is gross!).

MsPlucky :  I meant to tag you too with my reply to heavenlyflower above but I don’t know how to do one reply for 2 people from 2 different pages. What do you always order from Cheesecake Factory?

We don’t do much for valentine’s day. It’s just another silly commercial holiday to us. We much more value our marriage anniversary

socalgirl1689 :  I always get crab and artichoke dip, stuffed mushrooms, combo plate of chicken madeira/shrimp scampi then lemon meringue or red velvet (which is awesome) cheesecake for dessert. To hell with calorie counting, I don’t care enough to check just bring me the carbs. 😈

MsPlucky :  I hope you two have a wonderful time! 😄 Baby days are decades behind me but I remember how hard it was to leave him with granny the first time. Enjoy your day together.

heavenlyflower :  Thanks, I’m glad I have a few weeks to get used to the idea lol

socalgirl1689 :  TOTALLY agree on the red velvet cheesecake. I love their crab cakes, love the turkey club, love the Thai chicken tacos… I have a few favorites! They also have some of th best iced tea, and their wheat bread – YUUUUMMMMM!

We’re driving to Florida on the 14th to see my in-laws and go to the Daytona 500. We’re really looking forward to it! We’ll be celebrating Valentine’s Day the day before by going out to dinner at the restaurant where we had our first date. 🙂

We have reservations for a favorite restaurant in a nearby city. I got him a boardgame since he and his co-workers do a monthly boardgame get together and he never has one to bring and then we’ll go to sleep because Wednesdays are weeknights and I have to be a functional human by 6 am.
