So many Bees are having a lot of traditional ceremonies/receptions. So what are you leaving out of your wedding that is usually traditional?
I am leaving out: ACOHOL n DANCING (The bump and gring kind atleast…lol)

No garter/bouquet toss, and it’ll be more of a cocktail party rather than traditional reception. No special dances, etc. We just want people to enjoy mingling

no garter or bouquet toss.

- Wedding: July 2012 - Baltimore Museum of Industry
No garter/bouquet toss- ugh, ugh, ugh!
No songs during the ceremony.

Ditto – no garter or bouquet toss. We’re going to have a grand total of 2 single women at my wedding and I just couldn’t do that to them!

- Bouquet Toss
- Garter Toss
- Flower girl (though we do have a ring bearer)
- No kids (except the ring bearer and a few stragglers)
- No dancing (except our first dance)
We are definitely serving alcohol though.

Traditional music, bouquet/garter toss, father/daughter and mother/son dance, guest book, programs, i’m sure there are more.

I’m still trying to win the leaving out alcohol battle.
We’re leaving out the garter-thing. Iffy on the bouquet-toss. I’d rather have something else replace those two. Leaving out “maid/en of honor” and “best man” – everyone is “equal.”
I haven’t brought this up to Fiance yet, but I cannot stand the chicken dance or the electric slide at weddings! Hate it! And I dislike the clinking of wine glasses to get the groom to dash to his bride to kiss her. Ick.
I also don’t know how to work the father/daughter dance, since my Dad is disabled and on oxygen. And the mother/son dance will have to be replaced, since FI’s Mom passed away in 2010.

@BetterSherm: I went to a recent wedding and they had plastic wine glasses and silverware, so no clinking! lol
Post # 16
no apps in cock tail hour but there will be a bartender
no programs in ceremony
no readings during ceremony other then the pastor speaking
not sure what else we are leaving out…
