We spent around $1,200 on flowers (my bouquet, nine bridesmaids’ bouquets, four corsages, eleven boutonnieres, and two junior bridesmaids bouquets).  I lost my bouquet before the end of the night.

@BrideToBe14:  You’re so inspirational!! Do you know if you have to have a Sam’s Club membership in order to buy online? I don’t have one at the moment.

@BrideToBe14:  I spent roughly $800-900 on flowers.  If you want to include all the supplies for my DIY adventure, bump it up another $100.

I wrote a huge post about it, I got my flowers in bulk from Wegmans and went to town the night before and the day of the wedding.    Here is the link: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/my-diy-wedding-flowers-from-wegmans-pic-heavy#axzz2pwpnZ8Yi

Basically it was a great idea and I got the wedding flowers EXACTLY as I had imagined them.  However it was a lot of hard work.  But the flowers were gorgeous!!  The only thing I would have done differently is I would have made all the bouquets the night before, not the morning of, as it really cut into the getting ready portion of my day.

    Here are my flowers! 🙂

Mine are about $2,400 for my bouquet, Maid/Matron of Honor, 8 centerpieces, 4 aisle arrangements, 2 alter arrangements, and additional decor. Pricey, but that’s the cost of peonies and anemones. :-/

Getting my flowers from Sam’s Club, only spend about $500 total.

@BrideToBe14:  I am looking into doing DIY flowers. I really don’t want to waste thousands on something that is just going to die and really isn’t an important aspect. I am looking into Sam’s club right now. It’s a really great price and I have seen nothing, but good things about them. I am also talking to my local grocery store (Wegmans) about ordering flowers. It will be unter $500, but i’m not sure how many people would be on board to put together flowers the night before!

I’m not sure how important real flowers are to you– but I’m getting my flowers from Curious Floral Crafts on Etsy. She does sola wood flowers that look real. For my bridal bouquet, 4 bridesmaid bouquets, 8 boutonnieres, and 6 corsages it is $475. I’m using lanterns for centerpieces but, if I wasn’t, I would buy centerpieces from the same lady. She makes them for $15-60 each. I love that these flowers will last forever and they look real!

@BrideToBe14:  I ordered roses and calla lilies from Sam’a club. The callas were delivered a day late because the FedEx plane was rerouted due to bad weather. The roses came UPS on time. Not Sam’s fault at all but their customer service sucked trying to find out where the flowers were. Quality was good. But then DH decided he wanted more flowers and I picked up maybe 200ish more stems the next day at Wegmans Just what was out on the floor. DH then decided we needed MORE and ordered another 200 stems from Wegmans (who also catered our wedding) the day before, those weren’t de-thorned (neither were the ones from Sams).

If I were to do it again I’d of just ordered from Wegmans to start with and skip Sams. I’d be able to pick them up in store instead of waiting for the delivery and the last 200 came in their own bucket…so I wouldn’t have had to buy buckets.

@BrideToBe14:  Yup, I feel your pain.  It was going to be between $3000-5000 for my florist to make my centrepieces and bouquets. I didn’t get an exact quote because I knew right away I wouldn’t pay that.

2 of 3 florists told me to go to Costco and DIY if I wanted to save.

So I’m spending $300 on Costco flowers for about 20 tables, aisle, and other table decor flowers.

My bouquets… just mine, and 2 bridesmaids.  I shopped around and negiotated prices.

Florist#1 = $408 for the three bouquets but she didn’t listen to me and just picked random flowers.

Florist #2 = $600 for the three bouquets, I said no way, talked her down to $550, then when I went back I told I was unhappy with the price, and we worked it out to $500.  She makes HUGE bouquets which is exactly what I want.

Florist #3 – $700 for 3 bouquets. Nope, not paying that.

So florist #2 it is + costco flowers for me.  Total almount will be about $900 I’m guessing and its A LOT of flowers, but A LOT of DIY work too!

@BrideToBe14:  We are spending, I think $1700 or $1800. My fiance’s parents are generously covering them, so I didn’t pay too much attention (oops).

We are doing simple centerpieces though with not that many flowers (3 cylinders filled submerged orchids with floating candles and then votive candles and roses on the tables). I only have 4 bridesmaids, so I think that helped to keep the costs down. The bouquets are orchids and mini calla lillies with some roses to make it look fuller. I’m excited to see them!

We got a very reasonable quote from Whole Foods for under $500. They arrange the flowers too!
