My parents are paying for my dress, and my upper limit is $1,000, though I would rather spend under $800.

Mine was $700! I went in expecting to pay at least $2000 and didn’t even look at the price on the dress I fell in love with. I really didn’t even hink about it. We went to the counter and she told me $700 and I about passed out.

I paid $25 for my wedding dress (non-bridal)

And $59 for a black reception dress

ETA: Even with all my accessories and extras my total still came way under the cost of FI’s suit 🙂  I like to rub it in!!

@Bunny_the_Bride:  Mine is $800. 🙂 I found a small local shop. It was extremely well made, wasn’t jacked up in price, and they were so helpful there.

Mine is $1200, but with alterations it will be closer to $1700. My budget was $2500 though, so I’m glad I stayed wayy under! Probably the only thing I stayed under budget….

My sorority sister got her dress from Group USA. It was fine. I certainly don’t think it looked “cheap” or anything. I’m not an expert on such things so it’s unlikely I would look at ANY dress and try to ascertain what it cost

My dress was $1150, plus tax ($100), plus alterations ($250) so right in at $1500.

My alterations lady was very surprised that I got my dress for so low; she said she would have guessed it cost $3000 before tax with all the intricate beading throughout the lace. She also said that if I got it altered at  a bridal salon they would have easily charged me $600-$700 for alterations because of the lace and beading. So I like to think of it like I got a $3900 dress for $1500 😛

My dress and veil are $1260.  Alterations at the bridal shop I purchased it from are capped at $275, excluding bustle.
