I was prepared to spend $2000 prior to alterations. I ended up finding a dress I loved and after saying yes it was only $750 (maggie sottero)

There are so many wonderful second hand wedding shops around now! I would like to keep my dress under $500, with $900 being my upper limit. I’m looking at new dresses, but I have seen some very nice new condition second hand dresses as well. It’s very common to find a $4,000/$5,000 gown for a fraction of the cost… throw in alteration costs… and you have an awesome deal! There are so many other things I would rather have the money spent on besides a dress!

@Bunny_the_Bride:  I spent $999, plus $60 for alterations. My budget was $1000, my mom said I could go up to $3000. I was right at my mark on my own budget. I did consider a dress that was around $500ish. They have beautiful dresses in all price ranges. 🙂

Mine was just over $2000 before alterations. That also includes a tiny lace jacket to wear at the ceremony for $250. Such a racket!

My dress was $1000. My budget was more than double this, but I just happened to love this particular dress. I don’t think its typical for most people to spend thousands on their dress

Mine was $499 pre tax and not yet altered. It will probably come out too about $700 total.

When I fell in love with my dress, I was scared to look at the price tag worried it would be thousands of thousands dollars – it was $1,425! My budget was $1,500 and then I got even more excited when my mom told me she was taking care of my dress! So grateful for her!!
