I would like to do an acoustic calm wedding version of Bruno Mars’ “marry you” or Sheryl Crow’s version of “here comes the sun”.. calm version, more unplugged style.. we’ll see how that goes.. according to Fiance we might need to play a Norwegian “Bridesmarch” when I walk down the aisle, but I am hoping not. .. apparently in some churches where he’s from this is mandatory.. ugh.

I chose Holes in the Floor of Heaven, which was a small tribute to my dad who passed 2 weeks after DH and I met.

We did When You Got A Good Thing by Lady A. He also proposed to me with that song, but I knew from the 1st time I listened to it, that would be our song. We extended the intro to make time for the bridesmaids and everyone else to walk to. Then when the guy starts singing he walked down to where I would meet him. When the girl starts singing I started to walk and magically we meet right at the chorus. Turned out great.

We all walked down to Canon in D–I came down when the music crechendoed and they slowed it down a bit. It was perfect. Not to mention you never get to the good part when it’s just the bridesmaids (sometimes, not all the time 🙂  )

We are having strings learn a few pieces for us. My Fiance is walking with his groomsmen and then the ladies to Zelda – “Ballad of the Goddess.” I am walking down to “Maestro” by Hans Zimmer, used in the movie “The Holiday” because it is BEAUTIFUL!

A piano version of Ben Folds’ song ‘The Luckiest. Go look it up on youtube and then read the lyrics. <3 This is the only thing besides my dress I intend to try to keep a secret from my Fiance.

There are so many versions of Canon in D – the one we chose has a super full orchestra and it feels just amazing to listen to. It gives me shivers. (Yes, I know it’s a common song to walk down the aisle to, but for good reason!)

This is a link to the version, also available on iTunes:

I’m still trying to decide.  Someone on here the other day mentioned Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by Smashing Pumpkins and I’m really liking that idea, although I might find a kareoke/instrumental version of Tonight, Tonight off the same album.  We’re actually going with a 90s/grunge/post-grunge music theme for the reception so it would fit the theme pretty well.

I had “One Hand, One Heart” from West Side Story played by a harp and flute duo.

We did have a ukulele version of “Bring Me Sunshine” as an alternative to a hymn in the middle of the ceremony, though.

We’re walking down the aisle to a loop of pizzicato 5 “baby love child”, or Leela’s Homeworld for all you Futurama fans.
