My fiance and I have always had Fix you by coldplay as our song! However we chose the vitamin string quartet version as its beautiful!
We had a full Catholic mass so everything had to be classical and/or religious:
Prelude—sung by my friend who is a cantor:
The Prayer (Bocelli)
The Irish Wedding Song (Betteridge)
In This Very Room (Harris)
For the instrumentals, we had a pianist, cellist, and violinist
Procession of the Parents & Grandparents:
Ode to Joy (Beethoven)
Procession of the Bridal Party:
Cannon in D (Pachelbel)
Procession of the Bride:
Trumpet Voluntary (Clarke)
And for the exit:
Recessional
Wedding March (Mendelssohn)
I just listened to Pachelbel Meets U2—and am obsessed! I’m so bummed our video is almost finished…this would have been PERFECT for the recap song!
Good find, thanks!
I have 3 that I’m mulling over……two are instumental versions of smashing pumpkin songs….tonight, tonight and disarm by the da capo players…..stunning…another is by apocalyptica….the instumental version of nothing else matters by metallica…..all 3 are amazing but I can’t decide!!!!Help!!
I’m walking down the aisle to a cello piece by Bach played by yo-yo ma. it was used in the film Master and Commander. I’ve been in love with this piece for years and have waiting to walk down the aisle to this song. My fiance and wedding party will go out to Everlong by Foo Fighters. Huge contrast, but it fits us.
I think Fiance and the two BMs will walk down to my Future Father-In-Law playing “Glasgow love song” from love actually. I’m walking to “phone call” by Jon Brion from eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. Makes me well up every single time I hear it. I also like “peer pressure” from that soundtrack, not sure if I’ll use it though.
Don’t know if I replied before … but ours is a secondtime around wedding , so not so traditional. It is planned for outdoors with a country /vintage casual theme.
I decided so far, on All My Days by Alexi Murdoch. to be played before /entrance and then softly in background – the music only during the rest of ceremony.
I think ! haha
On a less sappy note, I’m pretty sure SO and I are recessing to “I believe in a thing called love” by The Darkness. I can’t wait!
I plan on having the entire bridal party walk to Combinations by Eisley.
O Mio Babbion Caro by Puccini, played hopefully by string quartet, second choice harp, depending on what we’re able to afford.
