I have two showers in September. One is family, one is friends. I get super anxious about looking cute in front of large groups, so then I don’t plan appropriately and days (or hours) before, I throw a huge ass fit that I have nothing to wear and I hate everything I own.
So, to prevent myself from being a nightmare, I’m trying to plan in advance, what I will wear. And I need help. So many times I see girls wearing super cute outfits and I have no idea where to start. I’m planning this all down to my make-up and hair, so I need help stat, so I can branch out.
I’m totally into fashion, I’m girly and I like sophisticated pieces. And I’m sick of the little black dress.
What are you wearing or did you wear to your shower?

I totally understand– I like to feel cute too, and in fact a low point of my recent bachelorette party was everyone else dressing way cuter than me (shallow, I know, but how I look contributes a lot to my confidence)
I had a lingerie shower a few months ago and have a bridal shower coming up. To the lingerie shower, I wore a super cute dress I got from Mod Cloth that had circles/polka dots all over it in a red and blue pattern. Then I put my hair in a sock bun (you tube it!) and wore red lipstick. Oh, and I wore neutral colored wedges. It was perfect, I got tons of compliments and felt cute but not way overdressed.
For my other shower coming up, I’m thinking more classy and proper. I have a cute white dress (daytime type, cotton, sheath) that I’ll wear with nude pumps. I’m going to wear my hair down, I’m thinking big curls/wavy. I’m not a huge fan of brides wearing white to EVERY wedding event, but I have this dress already and really like it.
I definitely recommend deciding ahead of time what to wear and making sure everything fits and works together, to avoid that dreaded last minute “I hate all my clothes” meltdown. Don’t be like me and find yourself running out to find Spanx at the last minute because the dress is suddenly NOT looking as cute as it did a month ago in the dressing room!

I have two white lace dreses that I’m wearing to my showers. One is more formal that I’m wearing for the family shower with nude heels. The other is more casual and I’m wearing red heels. Both dresses I’ve found on clearance the past few months. The most expensive was $35!

This polka dot, lace maxi dress.
I think it looks a lot better in person than on the site. My shower was recent and I haven’t received any pics from my friends from it.

@VMars: I think I remember reading about your b-party and could totally relate! There have been many times where I show up to events and I just don’t feel cute. Or I didn’t plan right and just feel ick. 🙁
I too was thinking big curls, hair down for one of my showers. I didn’t even consider wearing white!

You ladies have some super cute styling going on!!!! I have a better idea of what to look for now. I hadn’t considered doing white but it’s a possibility now. 🙂
